I have some sympathy for critics of overbearing police forces. White people seem to be so complacent and pathetic with regards to their personal liberties presently that this style of policing works for them (I'm Canadian, to make this perspective more understandable) However objective policing has massive benefits for society, it may even be critically necessary to avoid the blood feuds of the premodern eras that create constant lingering violence between extended families. I'm not sure if there is a really great balance, but while I live amongst strangers and foreigners I am happy to have some meat head law robot I can call upon. Also our (canadian) government has entirely neutered us with regards to weaponry and self defense law so I don't have much of a choice.
