If this was even 5 years ago, people would say, "no need to riot, let's let the courts decide whether the person is innocent or guilty. we believe in rule of law" now it's 3rd world tier. Chicago has shut down all public transit systems, including bus and rail, for the night. This says "starting 6:30" (in less than half an hour) but reports on the ground are that everything is already closed. No word on how people who were working today, etc. are supposed to get home for the night, and at 9 the curfew is imposed. Going to be a hot time in the ol' town tonight.

Just as a hypothetical what happens if the full autopsy report comes back saying that he was hyped up on drugs that caused excited delirium and he died solely as a result of that? I still think the cop will get hit hard with at minimum negligent homicide/manslaughter just because the dude was non-responsive for over two and a half min and they did not attempt to render aide or CPR on him. But how would you see it going if the cop gets the best-case scenario for him in the ME report?
