The Mysterious Mr. Enter / Jonathan Rozanski's "Growing Around" - IndieGoGo Campaign Failed, John going off the deep end, "Turning Red" is ignorant about 9/11 (later retracted)

Walt Disney: "We don't make movies to make money, we make money to make more movies."
Mr. Enter: "lol fuck that retard, Growing Around is paid for in fairy dust and unicorn horns!"

In all seriousness though, if Enter refuses to pitch his show to a corporate network like CN or Nick, and he doesn't have plans to fund it, I could see him being convinced to pitch it to a non-profit edutainment channel like PBS as a last ditch effort.

[Cut to Max and Anna at a very frilly pastry restaurant with a princess theme. Max and Anna are dressed perfectly for the occasion.]

Max: Did you have to choose a place with such a… strict dress code?

Anna: Oh hush up. I wish I could pull off that dress as well as you could.

[Max looks off to the side, clearly unhappy.]

Come on Enter, are you even trying at this point? Of all the contrived plot excuses you've made for having this happen every other episode, this must be the laziest, most gratuitous one so far. It's so inconsequential to the rest of the story that you can't pull the "it's a commentary on gender roles!" card this time. Everyone but you gets it, it makes your pecker feel funny and shit, but this is one step above just having "oh and all male characters are dressed as gothic lolitas" written at the end of every stage direction.

Anyway, on top of the whole "masculinity and power" issue someone pointed out earlier, this episode features yet another crack in this universe's backstory, as it implies lethal weapons do exist in this world, have been used in actual combat, and adults have had access to them. Also, Clint Eastwood kid there seems ever too happy to part ways with his inheritance.

If he was trying to say "it's not about making money, it's all about the PASSION", that also falls apart because he has no passion for this project since it's fueled solely by ego and spite.

I mean, Pixar and Don Bluth obviously make movies because they're passionate about their art, but they still want to profit from it since it's hard to survive in this world without money.

Wait if there are lethal weapons that adults can use, how the fuck is there no adult uprising?!

Like everything in this society would make it easy for adults to take over but Enter's justification is that the adults respect the kids authority cause they defeated dinosaurs millions of years ago, are "happier" here than our world which is bullshit, or there is some cult-like shit going on.

Enter clearly has a sissification and ABDL fetish given how he portrays women as the dominant force in the society moreso than children in general who force boys to crossdress. If anything, Enter's only passion is for wank material which would be fine if he admitted it but even then it's still pedophilia so I can perfectly understand why anyone would call Enter a pedo.

He said in the description that the episode is supposed to portray masculinity as something positive, but it somehow still ends up with Max in a dress. I would call it poor writing, but it actually makes sense if you think about it. If GA was actually consistent with its lore, wearing dresses actually would be normal for boys in this universe, considering it's been the norm for generations of GA history. It wouldn't change how fetishistic it is and I'm certainly not saying it's how it should be (imo, the entire boys vs. girls arc is so broken it needs a fundamental rewrite), but at least it would be consistent with the lore. Cooking, likewise, would be a masculine interest.

I started reading some more scripts and something about the humor bothers me. I can't quite describe it but it all feels so off. For one thing, Enter doesn't know when to end a joke. It's like he finds something funny so he decides to run it into the ground. Here's an example: in the ep Detention Prevention there's a joke about Autumn being bad at school and never learning to predict kids' pranks. To show this, she gets sprayed with a water jet on the floor that's been there every day for months, another water jet on the wall, has a pie fly in her face when she opens her locker, gets hit by another pie from someone else's locker, then slips and falls on the pie remains on the floor all in one scene. Most jokes in the series have odd timing and go on for way too long like this. On top of that, the jokes are usually mean and oppressive toward downtrodden and depressed characters, and I don't think Enter understands how awkward it is as an adult to watch depressed adults in humiliating outfits being bossed around by kids.

The last thing I wanna mention is that a lot of the jokes don't make sense in the universe and come across as contrived. The most frequent joke is where someone will complain about something or mention how odd something is and someone will reply something like "what do you mean? In our child run society, this is to be expected!" It sounds very unnatural. It's like Enter only knows 2 or 3 jokes and keeps trying to spam them thinking he's a comedic genius.

This is rich coming from the man who bitched about all the supposed "Squidward torture porn" and generally hates mean spirited jokes. Didn't he complain about Stressed Eric and how the comedy came from Eric continually getting shat on?

Oh but he's doing it the right way, I forgot.

First of all, Growing Around was never going to succeed in the first place. John was just scamming you into paying for his crap cartoon. Anyone that worked this cartoon never got payed upfront for anything, not even the composer got paid. Plus, despite John saying that he'll give out refunds, it never happened and he closed his indiegogo down. I supported his campaign, slapping down $50 for it and i still have never recieved any refunds.

Stressed Eric isn't that bad. Enter will always be a egotistical bitch. And Squidward torture porn never existed, he made it up so he can just rant about Spongebob all the time

"Writing tips episode #6: how to do torture porn correctly!"
As it's been established, GA is Enter lashing out against adults, so he thinks it's right to torture his adult characters.

Bruh, he stole the plot of GA from Disney. Yet he's lashing out at Valleyarm/Blue Rocket Productions for "stealing " Butch Hartman's idea with Pixel Pinkie.
Tell us more about this Pixel Pinkie thing. I've never heard of it. Also why would you ever give Enter money? Did you give it to him on stream or indiegogo? Indiegogo should handle the refunds on their platform but if you gave it to him on stream he used that money for ramen and clothes from the hobo store.

Pixel Pinkie was this dumb Austrailan TV show Enter reviewed back in 2014
He got copyright striked for it two years later, and made rant videos about it
As for the donations, Indiegogo does do refunds but i still have not be refunded, even after Enter ended the campaign.

Are you entirely sure that you only slapped down $50? Because I just so happen to lurk in SGR’s Discord, and, well...

Maybe don’t include the same words in your username on Discord as the Farms, next time?

Every time, every time some newfag shows up they're either a sped or connected to Growing Around in some way that they really shouldn't be so open about on this board; seriously: first rule of the site, don't use any allusions to your other usernames on this site. Second rule: don't try to powerlevel and then lie about something that we can easily fact check.

As an aside, good work Crescent.

EDIT: I take that back. He's both.

Why does Enter attract SO MUCH hyper-fueled autism to this board!? I get that these kinds of people were why the Entersphere closed down all those years ago, but I'd have thought that after it got downsized to the one thread this shit would stop or that these people'd take a hint after so many years and so many instances of it happening to other users, but no: they just keep pouring in to grandstand against him, and it never stops!

Playing devil's advocate here, but I think that with a little retooling and the right timing I can see a joke like that working in a fast paced animated scene. Like if you also managed to write in another punchline that works on top of original one I can see it working in a different animated show. That's never going to happen considering who we're talking about here, but still.

Also, I'm secretely waiting for the next NNewt84 arc to happen, his sperging was fun to read.
