Why should a luxury clothing company pay millions of dollars in future rent and taxes a year to a city that let a zerg rush happen? Especially when there's an economic downturn, less foriegn tourists - the top customers of high end luxury - due to demand for passenger flights being reduced drastically for at least another 4-6 months, commercial rent always increasing by a significant percentage a year and places literally across the borders in CT and NJ which will be more favorable in business climate. DiBlasio's NYC will be begging for these companies to stay.

Cops don't stop looters -> neighborhood groups form because fuck letting things get torched around you -> some of these militias happen to be white because sometimes lots of white people live near each other -> militias get called racist -> these folks stop giving a fuck about being called racist because the alternative is letting people come in and torch their homes.

That's my take for how things crack in a hurry. Lots of historical precedent for this sort of thing, push anyone into a corner and make them choose between hearth-and-home and ideological bullshit, and their family comes first 100% of the time.
