The difference between their responses over the anti-lockdown protests and the looting and burning of dozens of cities spells it would clear enough: when they say 'orange man bad' they really mean 'white man bad'. There is no denying it now, the race war they've been conducting for 75 has gone mask off with these riots.

Loads of people are going mental because they think 'no quarter' means 'shoot them even if they surrender' which would be a war crime. This may be true, however, he's clearly using in the colloquial 21st Century sense of 'don't compromise with them', not in the American Civil War sense of 'shoot them even if the surrender'.

Shooting them even if they surrender would be strategically unwise because it would deter further surrenders.

Very well articulated. The third point in particular is very difficult though. People become attached to their communities and often feel that they owe a debt to the people around them in their formative years. It can also be difficult to follow through with that when other people identify you as a member of a group. You can't easily change someone else's perspective.
