I do worry that if this dies down it will only be delaying things, just like things in the 1960s and 1970s eventually cooled off, but it was just a delay.

There is a bigger war being fought here for basically the fate of the human race, it does seem like this is the sort of thing a war that would top WW1 and WW2 could be fought for, maybe even the final war.

It could be a long time until it happens, but it might be an inevitability.

The patterns of history are a bitter pill to swallow, but it's one that has to be taken if you plan to do anything other than screech about your chosen boogeyman for the rest of your life. Even if the gamers rose up and restored America today, we would only be starting the cycle all over again until one day our descendants have to walk the same path. The question that you will then have to answer for yourself is if even that temporary fix will be worth it.
