U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

Probably very late since this thread is rapidly closing in on 1200 pages but has this shit show bumped guns higher up anyone else's list of purchases?

I'm considering going to look at shotguns at the shop near work on my lunch break or on my way home and have a friend who I'm seeing Saturday who was selling a handgun last time I saw him. Will definitely be asking if that's still available.

My city has been pretty quiet about all of this but I live in a neighborhood pretty close to the ghetto so if shit does go down I'd have a lot more peace of mind.

Better get, while there's still getting to be got.

I live in a state that's blessedly red, and in a county that'll happily vanish wayward looters & vandals. Everyone knows this, and thus everyone is being extra polite.

The supply of guns here was never an issue, even during the depths of the worst recent panic buying. Yet the shelves here are empty, and not because they're being pulled to keep them safe. The backlog of checks & incoming online orders is insane.

If all the guns are being bought up in places like this, that should tell y'all it's long past time to arm up.

Edit:
There's a lot of first-time buyers showing up & calling from the city, who'd have never in their lives ventured this far into the hills, due to the reputation of this county alone. But they're finding that the only places they can still find guns, are the places they've been told for years were don't-let-the-sun-set-on-you. It's resulting in a lot of poor black folk with institutional racism being freedom pilled pretty hard, and it's certainly heartening to see.

These multinational corporations all protest police brutality, but they never speak up against vandalism or looting.

Some, like Sony, even implicitly endorse it by bailing out rioters.

It really shows what's taboo and what isn't.

Everyone should be rioting in Sony stores now. Steal everything. If that is the future they want in America, they can continue to have it.

This entire situation is just eerie. I'm an electrician near Birmingham Alabama, and a lot of the blacks I work with despise the riot, and agree that it is a waste.
What makes them think so, if I can ask? Here in the UK any black person not nailing their colours to the mast and supporting this whole shitshow is getting eviscerated. Good on your colleagues for being awesome. I mean we all know it's re.tarded, but what's their specific reason for feeling as they do?

More people like that seeing it for what it is - either people who're violent animals looking for an excuse to be violent animals or antifa glomming on and causing shit - and perhaps this would die the death it so deserves

why do they think acting like this will make people treat them less shit.
"People keep calling us niggers so lets all act like niggers to prove them wrong".
like, whats the end goal for this whole thing? to just destroy as much shit as possible? to start a civil war?

What I’ve learned observing blacks who act like this is that they have it completely backwards. Their idea of what the “white racist” expects is the compliant negro, so they think when they chimp out that they’re showing whitey what for and that the response will be to back down and let them have what they want. In reality, we’d be more surprised and impressed if they didn’t act like savages, but they just don’t understand that.

No, those are the people you monitor, go No Contact with, and never give any personal information about yourself to.
Yeah. Professional peers pulling this shit get put in a sort of psychic containment zone and basically classed as dangerous and stupid (or disingenuous).

It's heartbreaking, but fuck you.

Human rights were a mistake.
This thing’s been a rollercoaster. For normies, the situation started out as “hey a genuine atrocity appears to have been committed by a cop, something must be done” and was supplanted literally overnight by “greedy, violent lunatics are ransacking every major city and the only thing keeping them out of your neighborhood is a thin blue fucking line.”

The mass media’s role in this is particularly atrocious. If anything, this shitstorm has demonstrated that a corporate press that puts its own agenda before the public’s best interest is no better than a state-owned press that does the same thing.

What all does business insurance cover? I keep hearing it being touted as the reason people should be able to loot and break shit freely, but I doubt it covers lost income, bills generated by the establishment, and lost wages to workers who now have to line up on the Government's pay tit.

What I’m hearing is that a great deal of the time, it specifically excludes damages caused by civil insurrection.

Just more communist bullshit spouted by people who just assume someone else will pay for everything. Not all policies cover civil unrest either.

We should start a campaign to coerce every corporation who voiced support for the protests to refuse to press charges against anyone who loots their stores, bail them out of jail, and give them the items that they stole for free. That would be hilarious.
It won't work because believing that the police is necessary for the safety of the people is a controversial opinion in 2020.

I think he's comparing it to a massive shootout in an apartment building and the police refusing to let you in, whether it's your home or not. Which would be the procedure.
Exactly! Do I like curfews? No! But trying to get control of this without somehow shutting things down is like trying to work on a turbine generator that’s shredding itself apart without removing power first. All that’s going to happen is the repair guy getting killed.

Well, one of the major points is how they are running around destroying businesses. They are workers who are trying to provide for their families, and seeing the destruction of family supporting jobs kinda pisses them off.

It generally doesn't even cover civil unrest. Anyone who manages to get paid out from arson or vandalism claims probably won't get enough, but rest assured insurance companies aren't in the business giving out free fucking money if your policy says it doesn't cover civil unrest.

I'm not worried about availability, I live in a very red, pretty rural, state. I'm more worried about just making sure I have one when I need it. Worst come to worst I can probably bum one off my dad for a couple weeks.
