I wonder if it's a reflection of the digital age we now live in, that has caused us to lose all sense of nuance.

Everything digital is either on or off, if you pass the condition or fail the condition, no in between.

In the office, your metrics says your rating is 4.6 and we need someone like Johnson over here who passes with his 5.1. Doesn't matter why the numbers are that way, some computer spit it out so it is.

You are always on time with your bills but this time you were late for reasons and paid at 12:01 am the next day according to the system? Enjoy your late fee. Sure you can talk to a human who might change it, hope you like being on hold for several hours.

Trying to take out a loan? Our equation puts you at 348 and for this loan you need 350. Loan denied.

Trying to win a government contract with your small business? Well our diversity equation says you don't have enough black employees regardless of the ones you do are all in high level positions while Company B here who won the contract just hired a fleet of black janitors.

I know it sounds hyperbolic but with how much we let computers run all aspects of our lives, and espically how we are trained to use computers to perform the work rather then using computers to help us perform the work it feels like its really going that way. And if we let it control all that aspects of living, how can we not expect it to bleed into our thinking?

Someone made a post a loooong way back in this thread about how algorithms and social media promote and create echo chambers. In a weird way Kiwi Farms is actually one of the most free and unbiased sites because of it.

Too late. This is honestly going to be what gets us out of this. Police, nasty girls, and the feds are either overwhelmed or being held back, and the most effective anti-looting responses I have seen so far have been from armed citizens and groups of armed citizens. Even without firearms, this thread has plenty of examples of large and organized groups of community members getting rioters to fuck off through sheer deterrance.
The silver lining of this is that neighborhoods that don't already have it are going to be forced to develop some sort of social cohesion pretty fast, and those that do will have it strengthened. Ironically, Antifags are getting all of the "community policing" they have ever pushed for, but it's being used mostly against them.

I’ve seen someone fly 10 meters off a motorcycle into concrete, get up and walk for 5 minutes before dropping dead, it’s 100% possible. Head trauma really is no joke and I have little doubt that the guy is dead. They’ll probably never catch the killer either.

At this point the entire protest scene is just virtue signaling as the message is completely gone. When you toss in looting and vandalizing, the people whose minds you want to change will only receive a very large dose of confirmation bias. All that is left to gain from it is social media points and being able to say you took tear gas to the face and called a cop a killer to his face and got away with it.
