But it is a self fulfilling prophecy. You get called racist enough times and treated like you personally murdered a hundred black people with your micro-aggressions, eventually you'll say, fuck it, might as well be one if I'm going to be treated like one.
Being called a racist when you aren't one really stings. But it hurts less the more times you get called that. Eventually you'll wear it like a badge of honor. It takes a lot of self-discipline and patience to not fall into the trap of hating someone as much as they hate you.
Tin foil hat time: What if BLM and other black leaders wanted these riots so that they could increase racism? Like how sometimes Jews will fake hate crimes to stoke the fear of anti-semitism. It's my theory that these sorts of things are more about controlling the members of your group so that they DON'T assimilate. You need your group to think it is us vs. them -- otherwise you can't control them as well. In all honesty, a lot of minority groups are manipulated by unscrupulous leaders who don't want to fix any problems because fixing them means that you don't need leaders like them anymore.
