Being called a racist when you aren't one really stings. But it hurts less the more times you get called that. Eventually you'll wear it like a badge of honor. It takes a lot of self-discipline and patience to not fall into the trap of hating someone as much as they hate you.

Tin foil hat time: What if BLM and other black leaders wanted these riots so that they could increase racism? Like how sometimes Jews will fake hate crimes to stoke the fear of anti-semitism. It's my theory that these sorts of things are more about controlling the members of your group so that they DON'T assimilate. You need your group to think it is us vs. them -- otherwise you can't control them as well. In all honesty, a lot of minority groups are manipulated by unscrupulous leaders who don't want to fix any problems because fixing them means that you don't need leaders like them anymore.

Covid deaths for the under 50 crowd is somewhere in the neighborhood of 0.03% of the US population. The immediate swerve away from public protesters being science denying monsters who want to kill grandma plus all the health officials signing that letter about "racism being a public health issue predating and exacerbating covid" tells me it was oversold and used as manipulation.

It was bad in China because they're swimming in air polution, they're crammed together, and they all smoke. In Italy the worst hit areas already had a strained medical system and there's a much higher elderly slice in a much smaller population. Also Chinese laborers, hug a chink to fight racism, and euros also smoke more.

I ain't touching my Facebook. Crap, I have to snooze garbage like the Jesus-Horus or Easter-Ishtar conspiracy theory, or flaming hot takes from exceptional people. Getting a new laptop practically freed me from the impulse of periodically checking my FB feed because it's harder to bother when I have to remember what my password is.

I like how these guys in LA thought it was a fantastic idea to climb up on that roof to get away from the police, when all they've really done is given the police there an easy assignment for the night. This year is crazy because it's an election year and these crises are being created/inflamed to polarize people politically for November. It's like we all forgot about how much fake news bullshit there was in 2016 and had some expectation in 2020 for the dems to have learned their lesson.
