I don't understand them complaining that gun toters aren't out in the streets. Why would you want them there? Wouldn't that make things more dangerous? If they are smart, they are at home with those guns so they can protect their own property. Wouldn't do any good to go down to the protests and leave their own stuff vulnerable. They don't have a duty to protect business owners from looters. That's the cops' job which they can't do because the protesters are making it impossible.
Ironically, this the model the rest of the country should've followed when their spinless mayors and governors implemented the unconstitutional "duty to retreat" law.
Duty to retreat is not unconstitutional, in fact duty to retreat was the standard at common law in most states.
Most states have eventually become stand your ground, or the courts decided that stand your ground was in fact the default common law (fully within their power)
Only two places in the US -always- have a duty to retreat (no castle doctrine), those are DC and Vermont.

I think it's cultural, because it's an attitude I think is also shared by autist, but I'm new to autist and their freakouts, so any regular here would know better about them. But forgive me for me for invoking an Alt Right figure or whatever, but Thomas Sowell has a book titled "Black Rednecks and White Liberals," in it, he documents the history of "Cracker Culture," (Also a book) which he claims the origin of why niggas are niggas, and also, how in the Antebellum south, Southern Whites had the same attitude towards work, sex, and open and explicit violent acts as the niggas adopted, and how this originates from Souther England, an attitude that died there, but continues here. Alternatively, "Rednecks are Country Whites, and Ghetto Blacks are just Country Blacks." But when a bunch of Christian Missionaries from the North came after the Civil War, they founded schools that produced many competent blacks that we know today. Sowell showed opinions, even from a white who believed that all races were different, that Blacks could actually succeed, or become high achievers, if they were taught differently.
