Can confirm, it works as a painkiller, but doesn't last very long.
About a year and a half ago I slipped on the ice and broke my knee - dislocated patella and a halfway torn ligament. It was pretty nasty - I couldn't walk for over a month, got a full Donga experience. But because of the adrenaline it wasn't very painful though, so I managed to get to the hospital on my own - I didn't even knew it was that bad at the time, I though it was just a sprain knee.

Was sitting at a bar last night. An older hispanic man was sitting next to me. Two college age white girls sat down near us and started to go into Twitter mode when they saw the riots coverage on TV. They must have expected the older hispanic man to lavish praise on their wokeness when they started going on about 'racist white pigs'.
The older hispanic man wasn't having any of it. He proceeded to calmly and with zero fucks given explain why these hispanic neighborhoods were so good at protecting themselves from the blacks, how important it was to keep them out of their areas, and on and on he went like he was explaining to his teenage daughters why it is important to always make sure your car has enough oil.
They looked they were going to swoon. On the one hand they wanted to scream 'racism' at him and the other they knew they couldn't ever question the lived experience of a minority or marginalized person or whatever.
