around me it's been scattered downpours, and clouds-but-not-yet-raining, and a bit of sun, so that's probably what I'd assume the government's attempt to do "rain" or "dry" would turn out

OJ Simpson was found Not Guilty because Los Angeles didn't want a repeat of the LA Riots. These guys will be found guilty. The justice system has cucked in the past, they'll do it again.

is everyone going to ignore that floyd was resisting arrest? that the cops were using an approved and common restraint tactic? that he was on drugs that caused his death? that they had paramedics on the way because they knew something was wrong? how are they going to get the cop on anything? nothing supports the charges.

Not necessarily. Zimmerman wasn't charged with murder after all. However, the case here seems clear-cut, more or less.

Interestingly, Minnesota caselaw might have made 3rd degree untenable as well. Depraved heart murder was held by courts to necessarily include a random act, such as firing wildly into a crowd, and not an act directed at a specific individual, such as, oh, I dunno, pinning a guy to the street and keeping your knee on his neck. Manslaughter is probably as high as they can go if they can't clearly prove intent.

The alternative is the second half of Minnesota's murder 2, which is a sort of but not really a felony murder law. Under that theory they'll have to prove that Chauvin was committing one of the prescribed felonies, but that seems like a tough lift itself.

This a repeat of the Freddie Grey shit and they found those officers innocent. I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. Also, the prosecution in the OJ trial were incompetent.

A guy I knew and some friends nearly laid into an african american guy for dismissing him with "Oh, sorry. I thought you were a brother..." when he found out the guy was from Sierra Leone.
