Good point. I'm not saying the DNC instigated this, but between the relentless media drumming for Ahmed Arbery and then George Floyd, I get the feeling anti-Trump forces wanted, no, needed a riot. They needed one because the Bernie faction were going to raise hell at the convention, and this whole thing is a pressure valve to avert this. I don't think they ever anticipated it blowing up like this, but it's serendipitous the initial riots were in Minneapolis and the democratic national convention happens to be in neighbouring Milwaukee

To an ambitious politician the world is a chessboard, and all things within it are pieces. If one must go scorched-earth to achieve victory, so be it. I wonder if Orangemanbad historians will blame this blatant example of M.A.D. politics on evil Drumpf "breaking the rules of engagement" , conveniently ignoring the fact that they have only applied to Republicans since the 90s.
