This technically happened the first 2 nights of Minneapolis' protests and NYC's to a certain degree.

Mind, in the former - that was because the cuck mayor basically told them to fold like paper outside some tear gas efforts. But it's why half the City is razed to the ground at this point. Cuz the cops were told not to do shit other than deal with calls and stay out of the way.

NYC was more deliberate a few nights ago, letting the retail district take a beating from the looters and doing the barest minimum to stop it.

I think you would be more likely to see Minneapolis cases - which was also the same to Evergreen College's riots. Where rather than Police abscond their duty, the higher ups effectively force them to do nothing so they don't hurt the protesters fee-fees - in the hope they still vote for top-cuck next election.

Minneapolis had a drug task force scandal where the police were stealing seizing TVs, money, cars, etc. Basically anything they could "justify" and somehow these things ended up in their homes or vanishing from the evidence locker.

Minnesota has a very real police force problem. Even as recent as Somali cop being sped through to frontline duty and shooting unarmed white Australian women. If it ain't wokeshit, it's plain old corruption.
