The NYT op-ed editor is now claiming he didn't see the Tom Cotton opinion piece that ran in his own section, and neither did anyone in senior management. So I guess it showed up there by magic. NYT is now claiming they will be running fewer opinion pieces. I have to admit, I did not expect the woke crowd, especially their own employees, to start turning on the New York Times.

This. Obama purged the shit out of high command, and the promotion system makes sure that only careerists stay in the officer corps. The joes, particularly combat MOSs, and especially infantry are going to be willing to throw down, but hesitant as to when the point is that they need to pick up the torch and run with it, unless a junior officer or senior NCO presents the idea first. If we start seeing desertions, I expect them to happen mostly at either the individual or company levels, with possibly a handful of battalions for good measure.

I've started to see petitions to disarm college public safety officers making the rounds.

My first reaction was like "What if a repeat of Virginia Tech occurs? It's still the deadliest school shooting in the US even after Parkland."

Someone on the social medias counter-argued with: "Well, you can just persuade the criminal to drop the weapon, that's been a proven tactic."

My reply: "What if the shooter doesn't give a fuck about persuasion?"

"Well, just let the local PD/SWAT handle it. It's not within the campus PD's scope anyway."

Me: "The Parkland security officer was armed and ran away, costing more lives. The common tactic today is to neutralize the shooter at all costs. The last thing you worry about in this situation is jurisdiction. Any time wasted means more casualties."

i think the plan is to have trump call in the troops, the troops refuse the order, the press then celebrates the troops as saviors of the american people for defying a tyrannical dictator. some court will then find a way to declare trump calling for the troops in the first place an illegal order, so nobody can be persecuted for treason or mutiny.

if this happens then trump will have lost all authority and legitimacy in the eyes of the vast majority of the people, including his own base, and biden will win 2020 unopposed.

There was at least one girl raped and murdered at the start of the riots. If we are going to cancel the police, then I guess the answer is yes. Yes this is acceptable. Sadly people are so brainwashed they would line themselves up and take the knee as they waited to be gunned down. DeWine is the definition of a RINO. This took place instead of his daily COVID press conference, as he set the date for opening up a lot of our entertainment industry, museums, and zoos. The eventual set of restrictions will be heavy enough that opening is pointless, but they'll be "open." Theme parks still shut down with no plans to reopen, sounds like they're planning on suing.

His twitter is amusing though, since it's mostly Ohioans not buying his bullshit, with the occasional democrat bootlicker. He's burned a lot of goodwill in the past two months.
