Should I buy a handgun, even if it'll be on credit? Because it's starting to look like it's worth it
You should buy some kind of gun, yes. Also shoot and get comfortable with it. Dry fire sessions when you’re not going to the range. I need to be better about dry firing myself.
can you constitutional carry or ccl? Otherwise, it may be better to buy a shotgun or rifle for home defense. As far as on credit goes, you can get a very quality mid-tier pistol for 400 or less. You can get a good home defense shotgun for $300, or a good entry level AR for $600
I disagree, especially for women, as an AR-15 is easy to aim and has lower recoil and a shotgun is just pray-and-spray. Trust me, if you've seen a woman handle a gun it's the recoil that gets them and freaks them out. It's harder to shoot pistols, and also, they're often more regulated in many places as they can be more easily concealed. AR-15s are the best all-rounders in my opinion.
I’m a lady and can confirm I’m an oddity because I prefer pistols. Mostly due to them being smaller and less unwieldy. I‘ve gone with a Sig P365 because my hands are smaller, so Glocks are usually a little uncomfortable to grip. The Sig is easy to handle, control, and conceal. Win-win-win. However, I’m also adding a shotgun or rifle to the mix, maybe another small pistol, to have plenty of options.
