Ah, I think the effect police have is more as a deterrent of those who fence sit on committing crime. They aren't likely to be there to stop anything in progress, there's a chance they could capture a person after the fact, and slow down that individual's ability to commit crimes for awhile. Those who would be tempted to commit crimes, but comfortable enough in life they don't want to lose what they have are deterred by the thought of punishment. No police at all and these fence sitters would activate. Of course, I guess that also means we all take eye for an eye justice on each other.

If they flee the White House, it will make Trump look extremely weak. The White House will be burned, the priceless artifacts it contains will be looted and destroyed. He will lose the support of a large chunk of his voting base if not the majority of it. Conservatives will become so demoralized that it will greatly weaken any resistance being put up by Conservative America in the political sphere.

Well the smart thing Trump has done is that he fled today. He's going to the whitest state in the union on some bs PR trips. Fact is he won't even be at the WH tomorrow. So there won't be images of him running away in a helicopter. He'll basically get the news along with the rest of America and immediately go on the offensive against the people that disarmed/removed the NG. He can demand hearings on the complete failure of security, whether there was collusion with the democrat mayor etc etc. Honestly it would be better for him to sit in new england and watch the WH burn rather than order the defenders to open fire. Bonus sympathy is that if they are overrun and killed, the fact that the generals ordered them disarmed today, without consulting Trump, is something he can wedge against the entire movement that will resonate as far in his favor as if a massacre happened would have in the rioters favor.

Driving around in my suburb I saw a black person in the rain wearing orange by the side of the road. They had an umbrella, but seeing them entirely by themselves creeped me out. (inb4 "they're just standing there, menacingly") Unless it's by a neighborhood, we don't really have pedestrians, especially where they were. And iirc I saw something about wearing orange for today.

Just giving my observations.
