It wasn't that big of a deal.I'll let you in on a little secret--the "good old days" were never really the "good old days". Every decade and generation has its pros and cons. This generation has the pro of being fucking hilarious to watch from an outsider's perspective.
Honestly, I'd rather be frustrated and comfy sitting on my ass watching this shitshow than living in constant fear of nuclear fire like some of you chucklefucks did in the 80's.
You had three choices about it.
1) Ignore it. If it happened, it happened, you'd worry about it on the day.
2) You whined at everyone to get rid of everything with atoms in it and coin phrases like "You can't hug with nuclear arms" and act like pretentious faggots.
3) You build a bomb shelter, hoard guns and food, and learn all the survival traits that you'll never get to use when you're converted to free floating carbon.
I'd take the "WHOO HOO! LET'S ROCK!" attitude of the 1980's to the Cancel Culture faggotry we have now.
At least if a girl was interested in male activities and didn't bother with makeup or a boy liked poetry and ballroom dancing and indulging in his emotions you didn't have everyone trying to convince them to become trans. You were just told: "Unapologetically be who you are and let others be who they are. Be good to one another."
