I study history and library science. I love history. Even without knowing much history it takes only a cursory glance to see these fucks know nothing about it. But then I see some of them gloating about "how many racist subscribers/followers they lost." This whole thing has been fascinating in the sense that it has fully revealed the unimaginable depths of the media’s intellectual dishonesty. People are arrested for attempting to do business during the lockdown, but massive protests somehow are not only okay but morally praiseworthy. Nurses in full PPE stand outside and applaud as a horde of people marches by. Journalists will stand in front of a blazing fire and unironically say that the protests are peaceful. People are marauding around town like headless Mongolians while spewing racial hatred & perpetrating acts of violence, yet somehow I’m more evil for sitting at home and doing nothing (“white silence is violence”).

Anyone with a functioning prefrontal cortex must recognize the absurdity by now, it is 100% transparent. I suspect there are many people being “radicalized” by reality atm, because how could they not be?

I was actually pleased to see people coming out to protest in face of the lockdowns at first. I saw it as a good sign that both left wing and right ring groups weren't going to let WuFlu slow them down. Then it devolved into some of the most destructive riots America has seen since the 60's. And yes, people are becoming very radicalized. I suspect a lot of minority groups are also being very radicalized, as they are most likely to live next to or around blacks. Most city storefronts are operated by minority groups. Even minorities who don't live in cities usually have family who do, and word gets around about what's really happening. On top of this the left has abandoned all other groups for pure black favoritism. This is going to destroy Dem turnout for the election in November, mark my words.

Oh it's happening. I've been studiously quiet (not that I go on facebook / twitter normally), but my right-wing opinions are known in my friend group and usually the source of a bit of good natured ribbing. Today though I've been messaged by a couple of people saying this is getting out of hand, and that they can see why I vote the way I do (Brexit, Tory, etc.).

I didn't reach out to them at all, comment on the protests or preach at them. This is people coming to their own conclusions. And I'm sure it's happening all over.

They think that by keeping a statue or symbol up that you tacitly support it. You can't possibly interpret it as a reminder of the dark times. All things must be memory holed if someone is offended.

I would add the fact that riots erupted if not simultaneously across the country, then at least within a 48 hour window or so.

(I don't have exact figures. It just seems this all went from 0 to 100 across several states in a short period of time, without further incidents to fan the flames.)
