From the looks of it, the chimp out has reverted back from rabid destruction of everything tier, to the classic Ferguson level street occupation. Saw some protests while travelling between states today. You can see the police are fed up with them. Most protest waves come and go, I hope something happens to give this one another spark to get really get up the cops asses.

Perhaps a murdered cop. That would get the protests going along sweetly.

There's been two cops killed since protests began (both killed by blacks), but i don't think they were directly related to the protests.

There's something profoundly awful about the British (or Irish) accent combined with ebonics. Maybe it's because as a Canadian I'm conditioned to view the English accent (RP specifically) as "whiter than white" , but that variant of the accent produces a strong "uncanny valley" sense, like something's been usurped. The last few months, with the Covid bullshit and now this, has tripped me over into being an unapologetic traditionalist. The tension wont dissipate easily, likely this tension will stick through at least November. If the riots strike just as hard in November then you can bet on some police departments just throwing up their hands and saying "FUCK IT" and letting the city burn.

the other possibility is Minneapolis actually going through with disbanding the police, and trying to push it on other cities. That could get a lot of cops to simply stop caring.
