Bakersfield is an interesting place, sort of halfway between SF and LA on I5. We'd drive down to LA every couple of months and would always stop there to eat or rest. A lot of Okies settled there so you could get a palate of biscuits and gravy and listen to country music. I don't know what it's like now though,

They know that, or what to you think is the reason why they're so pro uncontrolled immigration? They know they need Juan from El Salvador to work on them farms and Kumar the Pakistani to drive the delivery truck.

I know the people who do this sort of thing don't care about equality, they just want complete and utter authority to do what they want and to manipulate white guilt into accepting the blame for our own shortcomings, but surely they see what they want is basically repackaged colonial attitudes?

I'm mad at the internet, because now my entire working day is going to be full of privileged black folk telling white folk that their life is misery and pain, whilst shitting on the asian folk who are not agreeing with them. It's also full of black council scum now screaming and shouting about how white cockroaches will be crushed by their black kings, for the time has come for the blacks to rule the earth once more. Had that conversation twice already, today is going to be great...

The UK has had intermittent violence and protests like the ones you see in the USA. The UK cases generally are more open-and-shut in the polices favour than America. 9 years ago there were riots in Britain which were fairly widely condemned.
Churchill was racist, insofar as you'd expect from someone of his era. He blamed the Indians for 'breeding like rabbits', leading to widespread death in India. Churchill, however, should be judged in the context of his time snd measured against his great work as a war-time leader. Black Lives Matter doesn't care for that at all, and the motivation of these individuals is largely hatred of whites and their history, not love of racial justice.

That's another thing that's going to be a factor. The death toll from the pandemic should spike, the question is will it be reported? And let's say that it doesn't spike and it's confirmed the number is legit. That will communicate to everybody that it was all bullshit, and the resultant rage could go in any number of directions.

In short, yes - apparently he was also rather bad at using proper terms when discussing foreign peoples. But then Churchill was also known to get excessively drunk at public functions and I imagine that didn't help.
A little more digging suggested that colleges are telling students he was racist because he apparently never specifically said he hated the "superior race" aspect of the nazi party. That's despite Hitler spending years trying to woo UK to his side and Churchill telling him to do one. That's right, the trust fund college kids think Churchill was beating the nazi's wrong.

At a certain point we're going to have to acknowledge Twitter (and social media in general) is a drug that can rewire brains, similar to heroin and nicotine. I can't believe I've reached this point, but I hope Trump throws a tantrum on Twitter (just Twitter) and devastates it's reach somehow. Doesn't have to be shut down but it's grown way beyond it's original intent, and it's operators have no idea how to deal with it.
