Been on the both side of the extremes.
And I would say far left thinks in a bigger amount that if they just become police or someone in high position they will get respect automatically.
And think about what antifa means to normies that dont follow that close, they hear antifa and they think thats nice, because who wouldnt be against fascism.
What I think it is, is that they try to calm the rioters by saying, defund the police, if thats what they are doing, but then the normies starts to react and say that doesnt sound right, they have played themselves imo, lets just hope the outcome wont be dramatic, though I have serious doubts.
Right, the played themselves thing is what I'm looking at. This putsch has made your average normie ask "what is antifa?" which isn't a great place for them to be in. The media is covering their asses, sure, but trust in media has never been very high. All it takes is a bit of google searching from your normal schlub to stumble across plenty and plenty of footage.
And now they're associating themselves with "defund the police" and "destroy capitalism"? They found a leverage by which they could sneak their boys into power under cover of racial unrest and turmoil, but they couldn't shut the fuck up long enough to use the smokescreen properly. Now anyone outside that cult is watching the rituals unfold and getting awfully damned concerned.
Well, at least, I would assume. It may also be true that comfort and luxury have so dulled such a wide swath of the people that this catches on. Halting stability and steady progress tossed aside for asspats on the internet may well define the US in the 2020s, though I should really rather hope that there's a tragic thunderstorm that rolls above our revolutionary paper tigers.
