I hope I'm not late on this, but in fabulous simpsons fashion of not letting a house fire go to waste, the NRA has began a new recruitment slogan. I don't keep track of political lobbying machines too much, but out of all the one's on the right, this is likely the one the left fears the most https://yorkpedia.com/2020/06/08/th...-membership-campaign-amid-political-upheaval/
While I like the messaging, I'm still going to donate to GOA over the NRA. They've got at least 50% more spine, and don't blow millions of dollars through corruption and nepotism.
Remember the guy who drove near the protest, got attacked in his car by the mob, and shot a guy trying to pull him out of the car? Clicked through some random normie news sites today, and got a lesson on how narrative gets spun.
As a refresher, watch the livestream of the incident (4:14:00 if the timestamp doesn't work)
Edit: archived video in spoiler, just in case.
Clip of the shooting itself. The livestream above has interesting post-shooting interactions from the crowd, and a few other angles, so I'll leave that in too.
Clickbait headline on a random site: "Man drives into Seattle protest, shoots bystander"
Leading to this NBC article: "Man drives into Seattle protest, shoots protester"
Containing this description:
A man drove into a Seattle crowd protesting the death in police custody of George Floyd before shooting one of the demonstrators on Sunday, police said... One witness told NBC News' local affiliate KING that the victim had tried to stop the vehicle from driving into the crowd before the driver shot him. NBC News was not able to confirm this account.
Which is not true. The video shows the guy who got shot ran up to the car after it was already stopped.
But hey, look at that, the video on the article only begins after the driver got out of the car, so you can't confirm any of it.
So they get you thinking "bystander", shift it to "protester", and only 3 levels in do they mention that the guy interacted with the shooter in a justified manner at all. And they still lie about what happened, and don't show the readily available video.
Great reporting, NBC. I wonder why no one trusts the media any more?
Reminds me of how in China if you run over someone, it's better to back up and do it again until they die. There's a reason for it, but I can't remember it at the moment.
He's right on that last part. Their complete inability to do anything about robbers probably contributed to my deep and rabid loathing of burglars. They're in the "I won't just shoot them. I'll shoot them in a non-fatal area, step on their throat watch them beg for their life, and then shoot them again".
What do you guys think will actually end up happening there?
I can envision at least three scenarios:
[LOW HARM]
They backpedal as soon as the media caravan has moved on, and leave the police in place.
[MEDIUM HARM]
They replace the old police with a new police consisting of Democrat party loyalists trained for "ideologically correct" law enforcement.
But over time, the Democrats loose the control they temporarily gained, and the new police force becomes indistinguishable from the old one.
[MUCH HARM]
They really do it, they disband the police and leave their cities without law enforcement. Anarchy ensues.
They'll posture for a while, saying they're going to do it for weeks on end until they don't actually do anything, because as funny as it would be, I don't believe the actual people in charge think this is a good idea. People will get tired of waiting for it, they'll implement some form of classes to teach people that murder is bad, and everything will carry on as normal.
Thing is, they hire trannies and 56%ers to various councils and boards that do nothing, they pretend to defer to their insights, but they never actually DO IT. It's the same situation as the deerkin on the Twitch council, just on a much larger scale. That thing has no power, it's all to pretend they care about the progressive shit, further cementing votes to get their side into power as it's been for decades. Nothing has changed, just the youth has gone of the deep end. This black lives matter movement would've been fabricated even if Gen Z wasn't insane. It's all according to plan, they just got a bit luckier and their mind control worked better than intended is my guess.

Yeah, if they solved the problem then they'd be out their cushy six-figure diversity consulting jobs. I'm betting on low-harm, with some money taken away from use of force training and put towards implicit bias testing.

So we really are gonna go a few years lying that George Floyd was "a Hero", when he was truly a piece of grabage that threanted to kill a pregnant lady and died of meth and covid? I call bullshit on caps being jackasses, but George Floyd was no hero.
Hypothetically speaking, let's say there was another AntifaBLM raid on the Lincoln Memorial but this time did more than just spray paint it and instead destroyed or stole the head of Lincoln, would this make even the most die-hard woke defenders suddenly shift opinion or would they double down even harder?

Nah, they're irreversibly lost at this point. I honestly wouldn't mind if they did, just because I have no emotional attachment for these things, but can used as ammunition against the left for the next 5 years or more.

ofc they'd defend it. Lincoln was a racist white man that only freed the slaves when conveniently expedient. Ironically this is also the belief of Confederate apologists.

Given they don't have a plan as things stand on how they are going to actually replace the police here is how I envisage this going forward.
They propose to replace the police with [Police by another name].
In effect they will just introduce some police reforms, but there is no great change. The "disbanding" of the police is just an attempt to grab headlines whilst getting the political support to make changes.
I would add Police violence tends to be in line with local violence for understandable reasons. Minneapolis was the 19th most violent US city in 2017. So how you will convince people to go out without adequate protection for the pay is beyond me.

I'm really enjoying that one screeching about police revenge when the Feds come for them. I hope this week is full of more Democrat REEE's about how they are getting picked up for federal crimes.
