Eh, fusion would still be better than fission, in almost every way. But fast reactors like that would be a good intermediate solution for making current fuel reserves last longer and potentially for reducing existing waste. A more diverse fleet of reactors of various sizes and types would be ideal to keep a stable grid.
Point is, the future could have been now. I can't even imagine what the world would be like if we had viable nuclear fusion in 1990. Something that big in a decade that was full of hope and optimism even in our timeline?

Ever since these riots started it feels like I'm in some sort of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" parody. I have seen at least a dozen people I'm somewhat close with go from been the kind that didn't mind asking the "wrong questions" about America and dropping the gamer word in private, as well as been mildly distrustful of the media, eat the whole BLM narrative. In the span of a week I have seen them go from "its just big business buildings and gentrified housing projects" to "the white people are the ones doing the looting" to "we have to be careful of the cops once they get fired". And now they can't stop posting those gofoundme links on their social media.

I've mentioned this before, but literally just two weeks ago some libtard I went to school with was spamming Facebook nonstop with demands to stay home to save lives, anti-Karen memes (RE: lockdown protests), news articles claiming anti-lockdown protesters were entitled terrorists and deserve to die. She was also applauding grocery store workers for working amidst the pandemic, and that people wanting to reopen America were evil for putting other peoples' lives at danger.

After the protests? Complete 180: she's gleeful that businesses are burning, she's mocking anyone who complains about buildings being destroyed, she's advocating for everyone to go out in large crowds and gather, and she's defending the idea of violence towards law enforcement...you know the same law enforcement that she wanted people to contact in case they spotted someone violating social distancing guidelines.
