I don't know, Biden has to carefully toe the line of keeping the far-left activists happy (who donate time and money) while not alienating the base. I suspect that his waning mental capacity will make that rather challenging, if his "you ain't black" comment is anything to go by. Trump gets the straightforward law and order narrative, which is pretty inoffensive to moderates.
There's also the question of his VP pick - this will put a lot of pressure on him to pick a black woman, which means either Kamala Harris or Stacey Abrams. Kamala has a problematic background as a prosecutor, while Abrams is a remarkably weak candidate, making it a set of bad choices really. If he picks a more competent or charismatic non-POC, his base is going to riot (again).
