I think I've found at least one of the root causes of @IceCat's white knighting of Loveshys and incels.



A couple of questions directed at @IceCat,

1) Why do you white knight Loveshys?
2) Were Elliot Rodgers actions justified? If so, why?

Cecause contemporary society is very sex obsessed, to the point where it's become a commodity or a trophy rather than as a pleasurable and intimate activity

It's not just general sex obsession, it's the idea of sexual experience as a status marker. I had a roomie once who used to tell me every single one of his sexual conquests and got flummoxed when I didn't respond beyond "that sounds fun". I had another friend tell me that when single he felt obliged to have sex with as many women as possible in order to "validate himself".

Not that there's anything wrong with trying to have sex with lots of women in and of itself, but the idea that it sets one on a higher social plane than those who don't is pretty stupid.

However, I have extremely limited sympathy for these Incels because, rather than seeing this whole sexual-experience-as-social-status-currency framework as stupid and trying to question or undermine it, they buy into it lock, stock and barrel (far more than the guys I mentioned above) and try to transform it from an implicit paradigm into an explicit normative framework, complete with pseudoscientific laws and categories. And then they attempt to use the authority that those pseudoscientific norms give them to make demands on others, mostly women.

The simple answer is, They are not.
They are doing a even more toxic hugbox version of what Tumblr SJW's do, they find a community that supports how they feel and rather than question how an why they feel that way they revel in the asspats and feels such communities give them even if it's unhealthy.
I think a lot of that is they haven't got the emotional fortitude to accept when they have failed and try an better themselves and introspection an acceptance of past mistakes is the first important step on the road to being a better person.
