Sorry for being a cranky old white woman, maybe this is just traditional opinion, but since when is it progressive to get rid of academia and knowledge? First of all, half of these college libtards would have a pointless life without academia, considering so much of their beloved discourse goes down in fake-academic sheltered liberal arts schools, the only thing giving their weird abstract theories a meaning.
Second of all, people are asking for better education system to avoid the streamline from inner city schools to prison--which is really a big issue, that I agree must be fixed. But how is the solution to this to destroy academia, they do realize that "academia" culture is what they are referring to when they talk about what separates their "woke" schools from inner city schools. Sure, I can see what they are saying if they mean that things are made overly-academic because people want to sound smart and act elite about their education. So fuck those people, but why SHUT DOWN ACADEMIA??? It blows my mind, that they think being uneducated is going to somehow set them free. This is like, so ass backwards. They don't realize that while Americans fight to get education, get their education, and then come full circle and start demanding that we abolish it, there are still people in the US and other countries who are still fighting for to get education, period. Academics are here to study how to make education better you absolute fucking dinguses. In order for schools not to be childcare zoos that produce colonies of ferals, we need experts who have studied academic and developmental theories to create teaching programs for these children, and we need experienced and educated teachers to reliably practice such programs. It goes without saying that the American education system could be better, I don't get why you have to thrown out the whole thing altogether.
Third of all, a society who wants to shut down "STEM" in general is a society that is moving fucking backwards. "Destroy centuries of human progress and achievement, destroy research into medicines and diseases and life-saving procedures, and while we're at it fuck everyone who studies environmental science and tries to save the planet too, because..." ????? WHY????? I don't get it. Without STEM, without academia, what are those inner city kids going to do after you've so kindly liberated them from the streamline to prison? They can't go to college, because academia is dead. They can't become a doctor, because we got rid of Science. They can't learn programming, because there is no Technology. They can't study physics because Engineering is gone. And they very world they live in is literally crumbling to pieces, because we got rid of Math as well, and now all the buildings in the city are wobbly and unsafe because instead of using Math and Engineering to create a sound structure, the architects said NAH FUCK MATH WHAT'S THAT and just built everything like it was a big game of Jenga. Oh and nobody has any money, because there is no math, so no one can count.
Perfect society. I miss living in huts and killing my food to stay alive anyways.
