Remember that the Democrats are trying to decrease the voting age to 12-14. Since they want socialism so badly, they are hoping that they'll get it, as long as they appeal to the youth. Since it's mostly the youth, (who don't know anything about economics,) that wants socialism to be implemented.

Not that it matters. Even with high birth rate populations like blacks and latinos, America's demographic pyramid is already starting to invert.

In short, unless something very drastic happens to our demographic makeup (and immigrants can't really do it because their birth rates crash after a single generation of locally-born children), the tendency is for there to be more and more older people in the population, and older people vote proportionally much more than younger people.

On the contrary, they should raise the voting age to at least 25 with an exception for anyone in the armed services. Clearly our society has held off adulthood longer and longer as we coddle our youth. Most 20 year old people have no fucking clue what they're doing at the ballot box and should not be making any decisions for our nation, states, or localities. Let alone an 18 year old.

Unless they've signed up and are willing to die for the rest of us. Then you can vote.

That's not a bad argument. The average age of financial independence is steadily crawling towards 30, and given people only get a taste of the real world and how politics truly work once they leave their parents' basements, I'd vote for upping the voting age to 25.

A bit more seriously, I don't think land ownership as a requirement is viable. There is simply too many people and too little land in the modern era. There would be no way to actively work for the right to vote for every citizen, which is just a recipe for revolt. Service, on the other hand, is open to everyone and thus there is a way for anyone to gain the right. So no revolts, as those motivated to change the system are able to take part.

That's the low-end solution, the high end solution would be rigging up a deepfake of Biden's face using live motion capture and a voice changer to turn some loyal lefty actor into Biden, and blame any unnaturalness of the movement or voice on the feed.

Of course with how things have been going with them it would probably repeatedly blip out and show quick flashes of the actor wearing the mocap face dots, and then they'd accuse anyone who noticed it of spouting conspiracy theories and say Trump was "raging at nothing" for calling it out.

If there's one thing I've kind of learned, leftist policies are all great on the theories, but fall apart as soon as you have to start implementing. Thus you get polls like "everybody loves socialism" and then people voted out of office when you actually have to raise the taxes to pay for it.

Now while I'm drunk, I could swear there was something like this in the pollings back during the run up where a "generic" democrat would beat trump, but actual specific democrats running wouldn't. Repeating the motif that people were more in favor of their concept of a dem politician than the actual people on offer.

IF this is true, then their only hope may be to lean into it and keep Biden hidin' and let people vote for the concept he represents to them than the actual policies and details he's going to implement.

Which is ultimately the thing. For all their protestations of this election being So Important, I just don't see Biden stirring the sort of enthusiasm in lefties to actually get them out of the house and to the polls in large numbers. They're already adherents to a sociopolitical philosophy that has "Make someone else do it" as one of its pillars, expecting everyone else to go vote for Biden and then lambasting them when he loses is far easier than actually getting your ass there. Which is probably, besides the potential for mass fraud, the reason the DNC wants vote-by-mail so bad... they know what lazy shits their constituents are and are desperately hoping that if they reduce the effort to marking a checkbox and shoving an envelope in a mailbox it will be enough.
