The article has no sources, and only claims it came from CNN (with no link). Every Google result is just people on Reddit and Twitter linking to this sole Egyptian Independent article. My honest take is that this "news" website is just a bad conspiracy site with no credibility, similar to those fake news Russian and Chinese websites which popped up frequently in 2015-16.

The funny thing is, that "3x4" is pretty much standard for where I am in treated wood for those cheap ass play structures people build in their back yards for their kids that urbanites call railway ties. Using a full 4x4 is too much overkill and waste, and they can charge the same, but 2x4 is more likely to twist and bow. And 94 inches? That person is exceptional in many ways. Not a 92 5/8 stud, nor an eight foot length. It's like they thought they knew something they didn't.
The person suggesting that either has absolutely no clue, or the only clue they have is from their middleclass backyard growing up. It's almost embarassing. It's like someone saying: "We will usher in world peace with.... .... ... SHRINKY DINKS! They come in 2.2 metrics!"
