I found out recently that Japan has a large age roleplay porn scene featuring petite girls under 150cm tall. Although they do move onto other genres if they are popular. I found it interesting culturally since they seem to place value on "purity" and "cuteness". In the west you barely see such things, and Women in porn under 150cm tall are usually dwarfs. And there doesn't seem to be that big a market for ageplay in the west either. I don't think I've ever seen western porn releases with covers like this.
The other thing I found interesting coming out of Japan were the amount of Maid-themed and Catgirl themed stuff. Stuff you'd never see anywhere else. Hundreds and Hundreds of these, usually the same stars are working across several porn genres at the same time.
What I am really surprised about is that we haven't talked more about the Japanese porn industry much till the last few weeks or so. Considering how much insanity comes from there, you'd think there would be some good insane stories coming from there as well. Not sure that there are though. Seems to be that nobody has done any real deep dives there. But some people have scratched the surface of it. And one of them is Japanese Youtuber
Nobita from Japan. Nobita is a relatively popular Youtuber that talks about Japan, and its issues, from the perspective of someone from there who currently lives there. He can talk about facets of Japanese culture in a relatable way that informs and still entertains the viewers. Turns out, he's done numerous videos on porn and the Japanese sex industry, including interviewing people from the industry itself in a very reserved, professional manner. He's interviewed Japanese AV stars and, at one point, a female porn director, a rarity in Japan's porn industry just like it is in America's. Take a look:
This one is particularly sad and disturbing. You can tell that this is a really broken woman
This woman proves that even the woman who work in porn who don't have sex on screen are still slutty.
The Japanese porn industry is a nice point of contrast to the American one. A lot of people have already brought up how AV Idols in Japan don't look as trashy as western porn stars. But its more than that. AV Idols are actual mainstream celebrities in Japan. Porn work is mainstream in the country, and many AV stars work in mainstream Japanese television and movies alongside their porn work. In fact, many women who go into Japanese porn start out as TV personalities, singers, musicians, or actresses before going into porn.
Aoi Sora was the biggest porn star in Japan, then managed to parlay that into international fame as a media personality, and film/television actress, while also getting married and having twin sons.
Mana Sakura took her porn career and parlayed it into a successful career as a renowned author, television actress, film actress, and video game actress, all while still continuing to work in the porn industry.
Maria Ozawa also used her porn career to jump start a mainstream career in television and film, while also becoming a successful entrepreneur on the side. This may all seem very weird to us, where porn is looked down upon as a career of last resort, but remember that this is the same Japan that thought that this song was a good song for girls in middle and high school to sing back in the 80's:
Its a very worthy point of comparison; are Japanese AV idols better off than their western counterparts because porn is relatively accepted over there? I'd say not. There is probably a lot of the same shit going on in Japan right now that also goes on in America, but because the Japanese don't like to talk about bad shit in general, we don't hear about it: Case in point, an Anime voice actress turned porn star went on a Japanese TV show to discuss the casting couch culture that existed in the Anime industry. It didn't go well, to say the least,
as this Kotaku article demonstrates. The Japanese in general don't like to talk about negative subjects and would prefer to pave them over with humor or the like, so that might prevent more people from coming forward with their stories. Notably, the two porn actresses featured in the TV segment claimed that there was no casting couch in the Japanese porn industry. I...don't believe that, but since they both still worked in the industry, they probably avoid bad mouthing it to protect their careers. Aoi Sora, who I mentioned above, does seemed to be ashamed of her porn past. With her children on the way, she had all of her videos pulled from FANZA (formerly DMM), Japan's #1 porn commerce site and her profile from her old porn agency was also scrubbed. She stated in a blog post
“By halting sales, I do not want to erase the past, But I also do not want to do nothing. I can not erase the past even if wanted to erase it. I stopped selling the official titles. But illegal versions are scattered about the internet if one looks.” So it seems that even with mostly full acceptance in Japanese society, porn regret is still alive and well.
I found out who the girl on the right is. 20 Year old Marina Nagasawa, now formerly AKB48 idol, who graduated and decided to pursue a career in gravure modelling. I assume the girl on the left is still in AKB48.
Marina Nagisawa has instagram(s) as well. I wasn't aware she was with AKB48 before, but here are her instagrams:
Her main Instagram (may not be safe for work as she posts a lot of bikini pictures alongside the pictures of her dressing like a kid)
Her alternate Instagram where she posts pictures of...ramen.
Her alternate Instagram where she posts pictures of her...cats.
Funnily enough, she's got two friends who also like to do that whole dress up like a cute 12 year old girl shtick as well:
Kami Teya, who notably did a picture with a pacifier in her mouth, and
takanehina1234 who posts in a schizophrenic fashion, alternating between posting creepy gothic lolita pics and pics that make her look like a flat chested grade schooler (
her twitter is lot less schizophrenic in that regard, as its almost entirely gothic lolita stuff).
Together, they make up the
Unholy Loli Trinity.
What you realize being on Instagram though it that these girls aren't even scratching the surface.
There's an entire subculture of twenty year old Japanese women dressing up like school girls and showing off on Instagram, many times in provocative poses.
This girl might be the worst of them. Ever wanted to see a woman dressed like a ten year old give you a panty shot? Your prayers have been answered.
