U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

It mostly affects non-white people, though white people are plurally represented in death-by-cop stats. Black people are disproportionately represented in those stats.
2015 - 1,146 peopled killed by cops (584 white, 51.0%)
2016 - 1,093 people killed by cops (574 white, 52.5%)

When a number is over 50%, that means it's the majority.

I'm not being rhetorical, I'm legitimately asking. If he was running away, I suppose they could have pursued him by car, but what would they do when they caught up to him, seeing as he's either too nimble to get hit by a taser or too sturdy to succumb to one?
Running from the cops isn't enough to get shot. Tennessee vs Garner requires that "the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others." Shooting a cop with a taser fits neatly into that definition while having a near zero chance of success.

No, just call the police or instigate.
Or go for the finisher and do both.

And with the institutional force behind the people burning our cities the time for those who oppose them is running out
I don't want to be a dick, but they aren't our cities. Clearly one of them was yours, but that isn't my problem. Even if I wanted to, all of us together could not change things in one of these broken cities. Just like how many people failed to realize animal farm and 1984 were cautionary tales, a not instruction manuals; the same people fail to realize Detroit and St. Louis were warnings, not a blueprint.

They warned us but we laughed, now the enemy is here.

My view on people voting for Biden and any democrat candidate after all this bullshit, is that if you are voting based on economic interests and believe they will benefit you, good for you. If you vote for them SERIOUSLY believing that they will benefit your community in the long term more than Trump then good for you, vote for Sleepy Joe.

However if your reason for voting for Biden is based on fear, virtue signalling and orangemanbad after all this shit, then fuck you, i pray to Allah the mob burns your shit down for being a rich exploitative piece of shit.

I don't know anything about the law, really, but Chauvin seems like a case of depraved indifference to me. He knew (or should have known) that kneeling on someone's neck was risky and he acted nonchalant about doing it. He had his hand in his pocket while he was kneeling -- he didn't act like he was concerned about keeping Floyd pinned down. As a veteran cop and bouncer at a strip club, you can't tell me he didn't recognize a strung out person when he saw one. If I recall correctly, one of the other officers even asked if they should check on Floyd at one point. He was more interested in not backing down in front of the crowd than doing his job properly. I could be wrong, of course, but that's just how it seems to me.

I don't even think it was necessarily a racist thing for him, either. I think it was ego and power trip. I bet if Floyd had been white, he would have kneeled on his neck, too. It was bad policing, not necessarily racist policing. There might be evidence that Chauvin hated blacks, but I don't think anyone should automatically assume he's racist because it was a black dude that died.
Which is why Murder 3 was the perfect charge. The footage easily shows a "depraved mind, without regard for human life."

But the nig-nogs cried, so he's getting charged with Murder 2. Which, in my mind, means this dude walks on the federal charges. The groundhog sees his shadow. And we're in for 6 more months of entitled pricks breaking the law.

Good job, Minnesota!

Studies have suggested that - on a by-police-encounter-basis - whites are more likely to die at the hands of cops than blacks.

It's just that low-IQ low-impulse-control blacks commit more crimes and have more police encounters.

"Blacks built this country, [they] should burn it down if they want"

Bull fucking shit. I know most everyone here understands that argument holds no water, but let's break that down a bit. Blacks "built this country"? The institution of slavery was predominantly in the South. The Civil war destroyed the infrastructure of the South. Reconstruction was largely done by the poor whites and black sharecroppers from 1865 onward. There was nothing that black slaves created left after the Civil War. Anything from 1865 onward was done by black, white, etc. free peoples.

Counterpoint: This was an authorized restraint technique, it's very common, and I don't think anyone anywhere in the world has ever died because of it. (If there were other cases, we'd probably have heard about them by now.) It wasn't risky at all, he was trained in its application, and he was doing it correctly.

Found a better angle of the Rayshard Brooks incident. Kinda ridiculous that both the cops' bodycams ended up on the ground, pointed at the sky. A combination of dashcam and CCTV clearly shows what happened. They were speaking peaceably at first, and then they went to make the arrest on suspicion of DUI based on the high breathalyzer reading of 0.108 BAC. When they try getting the cuffs on him, a struggle ensues. The suspect manages to grab an officer's taser and appears to briefly activate it, perhaps in contact mode, or perhaps discharging it at close range. One officer shouts, either in pain or surprise. Both of them get up and pursue him as he flees across the parking lot, still wielding the taser. After running approximately twenty yards, he turns and points it at one of the pursuing officers. Three shots are fired, and one or more of them strike the suspect, who collapses.

There are three ways Rayshard Brooks could have avoided dying.
  • Don't drive drunk. That way, when your drunk ass falls asleep in a Wendy's drive-through and the cops come and breathalyze you, you blow a zero and they let you leave without incident, because sleeping in a drive-through isn't a crime, but being behind the wheel of a motor vehicle while inebriated is.
  • Don't resist arrest. If they want to cuff you, just go with them, don't answer any questions that you're not obligated to, spend a night in the tank if necessary, and then hire a lawyer to deal with your DUI. Simple.
  • For the love of god, don't steal a cop's weapon while in the process of resisting arrest. It doesn't matter if it's a taser or a pistol. They will shoot you dead.
These three very simple steps could have prevented his death.

Most people don't know how a taser works. It does not work by pain compliance, at all. Tasers actually use compressed gas canisters to propel a couple of electrode darts that penetrate the skin to a depth of about a quarter-inch. The electric shocks released by a taser directly interfere with human muscular signals. The pain one experiences from being tased is similar to a cramp, because the muscles in the affected area will fiercely contract and seize up like one. There is no "fighting through the pain" of a taser. They directly inhibit muscle coordination.

The mayor's portrait is the kind of thing movies use to let you know someone is a villain.

Goddamn, that's some Vigo the Carpathian shit.

both white and black killed by cop while unarmed stats are so small they are negligible. It’s like 15 white and 10 black people killed per year

Tucker Carlson went through the nine black cases from 2019 one by one last week, and there were a couple involving people operating vehicles (which somehow does not count as a weapon, despite being far easier to kill someone with than a knife), another one where the guy had a gun in the vehicle, and a couple more where they were assaulting the officers in question. Here's the clip:

TL;DR: a cop is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a cop.

They always choose the worst people to represent this movement. Sure, his death was overkill, but they need to stop pretending that George Floyd was an upstanding citizen. George Floyd held a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly during a home invasion, fathered five kids and abandoned all of them, and was on a bunch of drugs at his time of death. If George were alive today, he’d be looting and destroying property with the rest of the rioters.

The worst people test our commitments to our guiding cultural principles, just like the KKK and free speech.

Floyd was by all accounts a piece of human garbage. That doesn't make what the cops did right.

We may be ant-fucking here, but that's how you know where the line is.

Not to mention they grossly overestimate their own importance. They want to claim blacks literally built everything prior to 1865 from the way they talk. And even if they did, that means they can't destroy anything made after that, at least if we want to humor their logic.

who overwhelmingly voted blue in the 2018 midterms after the left lost their shit in response to the 2016 election

The 2018 midterms were by any estimation a disappointment compered to what the left hoped to gain, no matter how much they gloated about it afterwards.

In the last decade we've seen two instances (10-14) of the GOP making much larger gains. So there's obviously more headroom to be gained on the right if they were more motivated under an Obama presidency than the hysterical DTS suffering left were last time, and the freakshow we're seeing now makes Obama seem like nothing.

Joe Rogan blaming the looting on white kids. Blaming some of the violence, sure, but the looting was almost entirely black people.

Fulton County D.A. Paul Howard (D) on @CNN asserts his Office considering MURDER & FELONY MURDER charges — feels VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER doesn’t apply — for officer involved in Atlanta fatal police shooting. Howard even invokes name of Michael Brown (justifiable shooting).
Infuckingsane!

George Floyd, by all accounts, was dying before the officer restrained him, with the amount of Fentanyl in his system. Now, in the broad sense of "no-one deserves to die of an overdose" yes, no-one deserves to die of an overdose. But whether he was walking into the Chinese restaurant, taking a leak, sitting calmly in the back of a patrol car, on his way home with dim sum, or whacking off to his own porn movies, he was a walking dead man. I feel sorry for that in that I feel empathy in the Donne sense of "send not to ask for whom the Bell tolls/it tolls for thee" way, but this wasn't a case of him not deserving to die and then being killed by the cop. If anything if he'd been 100% compliant from the second the cops put their hands on him, they might have been able to deal with him as an OD case.

But what do I know, I'm just some guy.
Yes, we understand that NOW, we didnt' at first. That was my point.

One thing that struck me about the Rayshard case is how calm things were before, but how bad they turned after he knew he'd be arrested for a bit. There's a good chance this guy might have had reason to suspect a night in the drunk tank could turn into a longer stay, maybe even a permanent one. It could explain why he decided fighting off the cops and trying to flee was his best course of action.

Some autist actually did the math, and it turns out the only thing they built was our national debt. An entirely white US would be running a modest surplus.

I'd toss $100 his way for the defense fund, assuming it lasts more than 24 hours on GoFundMe...
