I think they were hamstrung by the selection at hand. None of the black candidates were charismatic, most are not even likable. Kamala and booker are just not smart, Abrams looks and acts like a movie villain. If they had an Obama to run, I think they would have. (They should have run Tulsi or Bernie if they actually wanted to win.)
