All good. A number of streets still have boards over every glass storefront, but they’re mostly reopening. If I called every business that got hit then I’m guessing that the ones that only got smashed up had the easiest time reopening, the places that had all their merch/supplies looted did worse, and the places that had their equipment taken/destroyed are likely still shut. The places that got set on fire are probably never coming back.

Most of the chaos in my vicinity was only in a couple streets/shopping centers, though. Everything else is mostly untouched, maybe boarded windows here and there. The local liquor store seems to have been an exception; it got looted while every surrounding business (Menards, various restaurants, etc) was untouched. The liquor store is open again at least; the guy who owns that place is awesome.

What I do expect going forward is an exodus of businesses and residents alike. I know I’m already sending out feelers to get the fuck out of here.
