Which is hilarious because that's literally what happened. The police didn't arrest the mob tearing down statues and beating people, they arrested the group trying to defend the law and property. Now you have a group of patriots that could have been invaluable in the coming months/years, all going to jail over a statue. The enemy doesn't fear you taking the streets to "protect" the very police and system that is going to arrest and dispossess you. They fear you peacefully organizing and networking with like minded individuals across the country and waiting for their own creation to tear itself apart. Oh there are lines. They are just not currently military. There are lines that determine whether "protecting your own family and neighborhood" will see you at the mercy of a Soros installed DA and jury full of dangerhairs and angry blmers, or fellow citizens that respect our Constitution and rule of law. There are lines that determine whether the local authorities will be enabling antifa to set up mini states and do as they please there, or tearing down those zones as soon as they are attempted to be created. There are lines that determine whether people engaged in mass looting and violence are arrested and tried, or have their charges dropped with a wink and a nod.

Protect your own family and neighborhood, while also creating networks with all the other neighborhoods and families that are not under occupation for mutual support and information sharing. "Let the rest go to shit" means all that will be left is your neighborhood when they finally come for you. That means accepting that some parts of the country are essentially no go zones where they will loot and riot when they please, and the law will protect them and oppose anyone trying to stop them. But areas where the law still functions are where citizens need to be organizing now. Because sooner rather than later the authorities in these cities will either collapse, or be entirely subsumed by maoists. At that point the real struggle begins, and it's absolutely retarded that a large group of needed allies are going to be sitting it out in prison because they wanted to go fight over a statue.

It's been forgotten when Hitler was voted in as Reichkanzler the German economy was destroyed and there had been different political factions fighting in the streets (our Antifa darlings being one of the most prominent). His policies put people back to work on huge public works programs and factories and finally there was peace and stability on the streets of Berlin. Hitler and the National Socialists had fans and supporters all over the world, including in the US, among them Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh.

Whether you like or hate Hitler is irrelevant. The fact remains that when society breaks down and lawlessness becomes the norm, sooner or later a strongman will appear and look very attractive to the majority, who will overlook any unpleasant facts and actions in a desire to return to normalcy. It can be a liberal dystopia, akin to Huxley's Brave New World or a dark and authoritarian world as depicted by Orwell in 1984. I don't have any confidence in our Facebook addicted and Twittering class to know the difference, or even care. The political landscape in the US is going to be interesting, that much I know.

I've not read the book but I have seen the very good 1984 movie with John Hurt.

I watched it as a teen, in the year 2005, it scared the living shit out me, it's one of the rare pieces of media that feels like it's giving you a dose of unvarnished truth, I didn't understand it at the time because being a teenager in the 2000s I was of course applying it to Dubya and the Republicans, but I think back to that scene where Winston Smith flashes back to the time he tried to sleep with a dirty, downtrodden prostitute and the sick feeling it gave me in my stomach due to the utter bleakness of that world.

And again, even though I didn't really understand it, I still got the feeling that I was being given an unvarnished dose of truth.

It's somewhere in between that, 1984, Brazil, and Brave New World.

I have read Brave New World, that one's interesting because it's the "nice" version of 1984, where people are controlled through pleasure and not fear and pain, but it's also upsetting how utterly mindless everyone is and how soulless everything is, it's a world of pleasure but no true passion or joy.

Brave New World is clearly what they're hoping for, but I fear that we would instead wind up with 1984, neither scenario are good although Brave New World is the lesser of two evils, as a world of mindless pleasure but no true passion or joy is still better than a world of endless misery and pain.

But still, neither world is one I want to live in.

When the iPhone rolled out in 2007 and the small-souled bugmen could finally be effortlessly online 24/7, begging for validation on Tumblr and Twitter and Facebook, overflowing the exchange of information with idle chitchat. As the flood of information grew, the bugmen couldn't stand that there were things out there not validating and agreeing with them, so they built their echo chambers. Quickly, the culture wars went into full swing because everyone was hyperstimulated by the constant flow of information at all times, and they don't see any other way out.
