Private security are often people who couldn't hack it as cops and were either thrown off the force or were wannabes who were excluded because of mental issues. Or they're just woefully unqualified. Obviously the gold standard for private security is a retired cop who just wants to make a little extra money but those people are usually smart enough to refuse ridiculously dangerous jobs (like protecting businesses in ghetto war zones with no real police any more).

If you think police brutality is bad wait until you get a taste of private security brutality especially if they have to go on a hiring spree to meet demand and as a result massively lower their already often questionable standards.
