Well, I did not know about this programme. Could the support been given by Becky? I suspect that the programme does not require the employer to pay her, which means that there is another sponger on Amber’s money.

FMLA allows for unpaid leave, regardless of how many people are providing the care (but Big Al and Becky are not married, so Becky doing anything wouldn't count), but the job position is secured - that is, the person taking the leave can go back to their job when their leave is over. Now, there's a shitty way around this, in that the employer can be pissed off enough to just "eliminate" the exact position the person held, and create a new position with pretty much the same duties, and just hire someone else to fill it. That does open the company up to lawsuits, but it's doubtful MamaMeth would be able to afford an attorney to take it up, if she even knew she had recourse and it's damn hard to prove unless the company is run by people dumb as rocks.

I'm sure its pretty normal to feel joy to see your estranged mother at a vulnerable time, but the "most amazing person I've ever known"? Do you know her, Amber? For a week? People can usually pretend for only so long, and lazy people, an even shorter period. I wonder how long it'll take for Amber and her mother to figure out the other's possible motive. They may just pull a Becky/Amber, and both know the other is out for something, but come to terms with it. I remember a guy had an Reddit thread about his dying friend and and the guy's money hungry, toxic mom a few months ago. The dying friend knew she was after his money, but didn't care because he was dying and wanted his POS mom. She knew she didn't care, but that he'd come off his money. So go play mommy for a while and get paid. People make unspoken deals all the time. Even if she realizes her mom has financial motives, it may be worth it, to her, to fill the void of not having a mother in life.

Definitely ways around it for the company. Bonus: if they didn't like the way you were working/the effort you were putting in, but couldn't fire you for some reason, they'd go right to works changing something so your job would no longer be there, or your duties/work shifts made you quit. And bonus bonus: if you quit, you can't claim unemployment benefits.

Not being able to wipe your own ass (assuming you're not a baby/toddler in diapers) is a pretty good sign to me that you have a disability.

Histrionics are known to overestimate the intimacy to relationships. What other people consider to be distant relationships, they tend to consider as "inner circle" relationships. Their social gauge is completely off. It opens them up to potential exploitation and blindsides. If we look at the relationship between our gorl and Becky, we can clearly see there are many issues and Becky is unhappy. For someone who wasn't dysfunctional and lacking in self-regard the way Becky is, this unhappiness would quickly to a break up. As far as Amber is concerned however, the relationship is wonderful and there are no problems whatsoever. She can't read the room, if Becky left it would a complete surprise for her. It's the same for the others in her life, she never considers that they might not like her. It ties in with her shallow pattern of thinking, she's not interested in thinking deeply about anything. When something bad happens, she's sad in the moment but it just passes through her like a mist; she never retains any lessons from what happens to her.

Treatable or not she'll still have a ton of bills. Plus she been taking care of her mom for 3 weeks - plane tickets, showering her with gifts. Not sure why she won't vlog with her mom, that would bring in alot of views that people will watch to pay her bills and her mom's visit.
