DA's have been told not to prosecute rioters in some states.
DA's however will throw the book at Police on the ground enforcing the law.

Now what I'm wondering is who is giving these orders to these Mayors, and DA's? Logically these people should be doing their jobs to ensure their further career, in simple survival terms. But someone is telling them to scuttle their own political or legal career to do these things. So you have to assume whoever is giving the orders, decides if they have a career.

Maybe so, but I also have to give credit where credit is due. This guy Duggan seems, from what I have read of him, to be one of these few men of principle in public office. Guy won on a write-in campaign based on pulling the city out of the shit, and he's slowly but surely followed through with it. This guy won a landslide in re-election against a fellow Democrat (black man), not even a contest - 72% to 28%. He's their most popular Mayor in history.

He put up a curfew immediately and when asked about it, basically said this was to counter people (ANTIFA and outside BLM, without saying that out loud) coming in from outside the city and smashing shit up, undoing his prior work. He's lifted it now that those guys from out of the city have stopped coming in, and all around seems to not be cucking on the ridiculous demands - defunding police, stop using rubber bullet etc, while agreeing with those that will affect his poor community - high bail bonds. To me, that's a guy with some form of character other than "keep me in power please". He could have done what a lot of other Democrat Mayors did and let them destroy what little of the city there is, but he didn't, he cut it off before it went to shit.

Whatever he is doing, he seems to be doing it well, or as well as he can with a place like Detroit. Certainly better than that faggot from Minneapolis.
