This
news article from MSN explaining the DA's point of view should be required reading for every law enforcement officer in the nation. In it every law enforcement officer should learn that their community and their district attorneys do not give two flying fucks about them. They are less than people and are all deserving of condemnation and demonization.
For 41 minutes and 17 seconds, Brooks "never presented himself as a threat," Howard said. He "never displayed any aggressive behavior."
His demeanor was so nonthreatening, that during the stop, the officers took Brooks at his word when he said a bulge in his pants was a wad of bills rather than any kind of weapon.
This slack-jawed faggot is out for one thing: recognition. He wants every other knuckle-dragging cretin waving a BLM flag to know that he did the 'right' thing. He did the 'right' thing by slandering this officer. Never mind that the officer was extraordinarily patient and cordial with the stone-cold drunk throughout the entire stop. Never mind that he was polite and gentle when he tried to get him into custody. Never mind that it was the drunk who resisted first and clocked them both to the ground. The time that he wasn't aggressive is what matters in this case; not the time where he was actively aggressive.
I suppose you can get away with murder, so long as you're not aggressive leading up to it.
Video evidence shows Rolfe kicking Brooks "while he laid on the ground, fighting for his life," Howard said.
I haven't been able to find the body camera footage of this occurring, but there is the Wendy's (RIP)
surveillance video. Shooting occurs right before the 28:20 mark. The officer does appear to strike him: as a compliance move. The DA probably lives in Democrat dream world where shooting someone means they instantly comply. They stood on his shoulders and kicked him to get him to comply with their orders: they didn't know if he had other weapons and wanted to see his hands. Holding him down and kicks are great to get compliance when the taser you have is already discharged. What did the DA want them to do? Shoot him again?
Howard called Rolfe's reaction to the shooting an "excited utterance" — a technical term for something a person says in the heat of a moment that carries high legal significance.
"At the time that the shot was fired, the utterance made by Officer Rolfe was 'I got him,'" the DA said.
Yes, because the police officer who treated a super drunk with respect and humility for over half an hour of him refusing commands was just doing so, because he really, really wanted to shoot a nigger.
Atlanta, your DA is a fucking idiot who will move Heaven and Hell to charge these cops, but if the drunk had murdered one of the cops, would have shrugged his shoulders and offered a plea deal with a minimum sentence.
Rolfe knew the Taser that Brooks had "presented no danger" because it had already been shot twice, Howard alleged.
Remember if you're a white cop: keep count of however many times the opposing suspect shoots their gun at you or deploys the taser they stole from you, after beating the shit out of you, because if its empty, oh boy. You're copping a murder charge.
But lets be real. We have an activist DA who was just salivating for the opportunity to jail some white cops. Just as there are other activist DAs around this country who are eager to do the same. We're already seeing walk-outs by Atlanta PD in droves. Who the fuck would want to be a cop in that town? Who would want to be demonized after doing everything within your power to de-escalate a situation and give a man every opportunity in the book to get away with nothing more than a DUI charge?
These DAs, these protesting dipshits, these Twitter-posting faggots, have already told us what they want: a world without law enforcement. You know what? Fine. I'm totally fine with that. None of these men or women, whether they be black, hispanic, white, asian, or whatever, regardless of their religion or sexuality, should have to wake up each morning and wonder if this is the day they have to face a murder charge for
doing their job. Disband them.
Let the communities take up their own defense. Just don't act surprised when rural and poor Americans start shooting criminals for piddly shit. What are you going to do? Call the cops to arrest them?
