Because of the Cold War, we have it ingrained in us that western capitalist democracy and communism are two equally robust ideologies, when that's simply not the case.
Communism is simply a rejection of a slew of norms, be it economic or social, that came about naturally due to market forces and human nature. It hopes to will a utopia into being by setting up the conditions, and then when the people act unexpectedly, impose authoritarianism to compensate.
But historically, commie states spend a few months pretending they won't need a police state, until suddenly they do.
How can a user like gulag_girl reconcile that CHAZ and now Atlanta are exactly what she asked for?? And how they're achieving the natural end-state through inertia alone? I mean CHAZ managed to get both a brutal dictator and violations of everybody's most basic human rights in about 3 days. Atlanta's not even gonna have a honeymoon period, it'll be straight to anarchy.

While I don’t care that he got shot, I will say there are laws on the books about this that I learned from Donut. A cop USUALLY is only justified in shooting a fleeing suspect if the perp has demonstrated they are a threat to the general public. Idk if that’s an argument worth having here. His best defense is the deadly weapon bit people have mentioned.
