This is a vitally important point no one is paying attention to. We've got /pol/ sitting it out, preppers hunkering down, militias being
totally silent, Republican suburbs
silently standing by, the alt-right doing nothing, etc. Noted incel Nazi terrorist hotbed Kiwi Farms is just watching and doomering in circles. There's so little right wing reaction, the feds have been desperately scouring the country and inventing boogaloo boys.
But the thing holding it all down is the belief that the left is destroying their own places, and the sane people are in control of the real force, the NG/army. The single "conservative" action in this was Trump's photo op at St John's. Even though
it ticked off lots of people, it sent the message to the people who needed to hear it: the right saw Trump would use force against protesters if needed, and the left saw they needed to self-police the rioters before rioting took up 100% of their optics.
Now replace that with a squishy lefty sympathizer who doesn't send that message, but instead does the BLM kneel and swears to keep the army out of it. How calm is the right going to be under that President?
I stand by my current assessment: leave the cities, protect your neighborhood, let the public spaces burn. This isn't the boogaloo. But if Trump loses and similar riots break out next year,
then we're looking at potential catastrophe. Because the left's rioters won't feel constrained by the threat of armed federal forces, and may try to advance out of the downtowns. So the armed right will feel more need to fight the rioters, or maybe even counter-riot. And the government institutions of force will be in the hands of people willing to crush one side but not the other.
Donald Trump's presence may actually be
preventing civil war, and that is some
rich irony.
