The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I think it could work, the problem is that the character development for Liara happens off screen. That actually plagues Mass Effect as a series the longer it went on. They started writing tie in novels for the games, and they introduced characters and plot elements which would affect the game, but most players would never experience themselves. So we're told that Liara has grown as a character between Mass Effect 1 and 2, but we were never there for that character development.
The books is also how Kai Leng is introduced, and there's also a comic for how Cerberus took control over the criminal space station introduced in Mass Effect 2.
I personally hate when franchises advance their plots via secondary media.

The same sort of stuff happened to Assassin’s Creed, and it only made the plots lines worse.

I understand that novels have a shorter turnaround period than video games, but for goodness sakes, use them to expand the universe laterally!

Well, it's like DLC for non-interactive media. How did the First Order come about after the end of Return of the Jedi? Read the tie in novel and comic series! Who are the Knights of Ren? Read this side comic! What happened after the destruction of Starkiller Base? Have an animated series!

UGH.

Ahh I knew it was gonna be really bad. I've known for 3 years now. I knew it would be horrible the second Bruce Straley stepped down after the first trailer showed Abby and her Jew goblin friend making out as the main appeal. And then I looked at Drukmann's face, noticed his nose and double checked... Israeli. Every. Single. Time.

Personal story: at the exact same time, me and some friends were working on a media project film/game/animation/book you figure it out. 3 people led the group, Myself, my best friend, and my former best friend (female). the last one happens to be Jewish and ran the whole project into the ground with her insane screeching, and underhanded fuckery. My approach to the project was business. Period, supposedly it was "too intense" for the others - Basically they were wishy-washy and didn't like having standards of quality placed upon them. While I was there, she would harbor an environment where she would try to instigate on in-fighting (subtlety), take story beats, remove them, and replace them with her own personal likes. She underhandedly got her friends onboard the project to take it over, naturally culling a distrust of me (and my other friend in the process) She took over the project. I stepped away for another, more pressing one. It burned to the ground and became about inclusivity with the original work having never been completed, They fostered an environment where nobody felt like doing anything. Passion died, and they stopped caring. Me and Jewish girl are still buddies, she puts up with my /pol/ humor, owns up to her Jewy nature and made sure to house me when i was out of luck. but later on I went on other ventures and she was not at all on my call list.

I still own the project and will revive it myself later on. But i learned one lesson. NEVER EVER FUCKING EVER let a Jew take over your company, or passion project. I knew without even researching what happened to Mr. Straley, just by the ethnic identifiers of Druckmann.

Dude is a fucking Jewy narcissist to the core. man managed to place in several self-inserts all around the game. I still contend that Dina is another one of his self-inserts. man went on a firing spree of competent directors just to go around finding ways to canonically FUCK every single female protagonist he can get his grubby paws on. You know the memes about male feminists being bitches in sheep clothing rapists? Yeah that is this game.

I'm outside of A&H and I have to deal with this shit here.

Listen faggot, it had nothing to do with her being a Jew. You went to work with a project with friends, no fucking shit they didn't like 'standards' of quality. You were friends.

Jesus christ. I'm so tired of this shit.

Someone mentioned coming up with a better plot. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

How about this one? We've already established Ellie's immunity is symbiotic, not just 'fuckoffspores'.

Here's the jump: what if humans with said symbiosis can start influencing or controlling the zombies? Yeah, I'm lifting a bit from Starcraft here; but here's where things get fun and creepy:

Ellie's not the only 'symbiote' out there. There's one (let's call him Karl) who's gone a BIT further along the tech tree for 'take control of zombies'. Why aren't there as many zombies around? Because Karl's snatching them up, 'programming' them, and putting them to work. He's not out to rule the world, but he's trying to rebuild his corner of it, and it's dawned on him that he's going to need help. Not just extra hands, but the symbiotic genes need to be passed down.

And lo and behold, there's young, reasonably nubile Ellie.

What follows is probably one of the most deranged three-way chase scenes in a video game. You still have Abby (who is either a guy or a girl, PICK ONE FUCKER) trying to track down who killed her dad for revenge. You have Joel and Ellie just trying to get the fuck away. And you have Karl who is trying to bring Ellie in so he can sire more symbiote-humans with her. He'll happily cut a deal with Ellie -- heck, Karl could use a guy like Joel on his side -- but he's absolutely convinced that humanity can't just shoot and burn its way out of this mess, and that they need to 'spawn more overlords'.

Yeah, I know, sounds like fetish fuel, but probably still better than what Dumbfuckermann puked onto the disc.
Hell, why not roll with a combo of the drafts from #1 and the "Ellie is A Lesbian" theming? A group wants to produce a cure, but they're not going to kill Ellie as part of it. Instead, the research requires amniocentesis to study the developing immune system. They need Ellie pregnant, repeatedly. So Ellie can either assert "I'm an autonomous human" and refuse, potentially dooming humanity, or become a factory mother.

That reminds me
MK11 Sheeva model vs how she looks in the game

seriously, western devs hate women
I don't think they hate women, I just think they have no idea how to model, portray, and/or write women.

Especially the women in this industry themselves. Minus the scant few OGs that joined because of actual passion and not BAD INDUSTRY ME CHANGE WURL like the lady that made Uncharted - I forget her name but she's being discussed here somewhere.

They're all too busy sucking themselves off to do the hard work of portraying how people actually interact with each other, it's cal-arts faggotry all over again but for plot instead of art.

Why didn't they go for a tomboy look with Abby? The female bodybuilder they based her on looks great. If I were her, I'd be pretty mad my likeness was bastardized like this.

The woman Dina is based off of got done dirty, too. Yeah, she has a big nose. It fit her face, unlike Dina. Poor girl ended up being used to make an anti-semitic caricature.

archival tip: Use catch.tube to grab videos from major news sites, Youtube, Twitter. Most common places. Except Twitch. It hates Twitch. It works on mobile, too. No, I don't know how you'll explain all the archived tranny porn if someone looks through your phone. Say it's for research, I guess.

Forbes can’t shut the fuck up about the game. Not linking any articles because they’re definitely not worth your time. Clickbait OpEds primarily yanked from other sources are getting posted every few hours.

Isn't Forbes partially a blog farm like the Huff Post etc? Hence large amounts of "Contributor" bylines.

Update on my sibling's feelings on it.

So far he's not liking the story. He never saw the point of trying to tell what happens after the first one, and he's not a fan of the direction it's going in. He feels Joel should have died way later in the game. He doesn't care about any of the new characters and was miffed to find that the Joel scenes in the trailer were replaced with Jesse (he legit forgot Jesse's name at first). He's also noticing Druckmann fellating himself with that trading card (that he also noticed had 100 Intelligence) and the self-insert spitting on Joel. He's starting to really dislike Druckmann because of it.

What makes him feel mixed is that he really likes the gameplay. He's a big fan of the first one so he likes how the sequel plays. He loves the more open environments and he likes how crafting has its own animations. He just likes exploring these open areas, finding collectibles and stuff to craft items. It's just the pointless story that didn't need to be told full of people he doesn't care about getting in the way of what he likes.

You should inform him that other games exist that do the same thing better that are entirely gameplay and he should get his money back and probably buy one of those instead.
