This is not some major revelation, this has been warned about by wiser minds in our nations for more than a hundred years. Yes, this is genocide, and yes it is already far advanced, has already erased tens of millions of people, and its not done yet. Yeah, Muslims literally kill anyone who disagrees with their religion and tries to leave it and don't tolerate any variation on their fixed set of beliefs viciously putting down off shoots of Islam like Ahmadis. That's true, it was partly because of that radical fundamentalism that their nations ended up getting invaded by coalition forces, but I still haven't been convinced that it really had anything to do with the extended campaign which is still ongoing. The War on Terror or whatever the hell they're trying to call it now is primarily about resources and nation building. I don't really think it would have matter if the region was Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu or whatever, and fairly peaceable and cooperative. It still would have happened due to the sheer amount of resources in that area.

I think the main thing, however, is that any nation with a good number of adherents to a certain religion is inherently more difficult to subvert. When most of your population is devout Muslims, it makes it even more difficult, but even when most of your population is devout Christians or devout Hindus, it's still a good bit more difficult for that nation to be subverted. Islam is the 'gold standard' of being subversion resistant, but as you've said, Islam also comes with many drawbacks in and of itself.

One major thing I've noticed is that the grand majority of people I know who are atheists or agnostics tend to lean left. If they don't lean left, generally they are nihilistic or politically apathetic. When the Christian Right made fools of themselves with the Satanic Panic, blaming Marilyn Manson and Doom for Columbine, etc. it led to militant atheism gaining relevance and wide rejection of anything that even smelled like Christian fundamentalism. I think that, in general, these people who became militant atheists or rejected fundamentalism [not all, of course] are largely responsible for the leftist cult that is currently tearing down statues and setting shit on fire. Modern Christianity in the US is a total shitshow, splintered to fuck and back. The only church with any real unity left is the Catholic Church, and they're plagued with sexual abuse allegations and are currently being subverted by a very liberal Pope, resulting in a lot of Catholics rejecting the church or afraid to admit in public that they're Catholic. Most other churches have been subverted with this 'love everybody, Jesus was really a hippy' nonsense, female pastors, people who directly live in contradiction of the religion's holy book are welcomed into the congregation, etc.

TL;DR - The fall of the Christian Right left a vacuum that was filled with a bunch of sanctimonious cult-like assholes who have wholly subverted our society. Strong religious values tend to make a people very resistant to subversion. The mass rejection of religion in favor of leftist hivemind cult behavior has led directly to the chaos we are currently observing.
