Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

The TT audiobooks are probably some of the best in the series after the Plagueis audiobook.

Anyway, some bothersome or mixed news ahead.

Rumor has it that Squadrons will feature characters from Filoni Wars as well, possibly Ahsoka and a clone trooper named Hawk and also Rex, possibly as cameos or full fledged characters alongside Filoni's green twilek Hera.

The Star of Galaxy's Edge, Vi Moradi, may be getting a new book by her creator because I guess she really wants to force this character to be loved. If Disney approves it, I'll take it as a sign that they have no intention to improve GE.

The Kenobi series is still in ambiguous development but Ewan says that it hasn't been abandoned and is still being worked on, but it is said that it will feature the "same technology" from Mandalorian. It better not be those stupid tracking gizmos since they're the weakest part of the Mandalorian that take away from the thrill of the hunt and scouring for info.

Aladdin's Rebels will apparently be getting a new show starring Sabine, Ahsoka and Rex, and Filoni Wars will be getting more episodes, but none of them are based on the unused scripts, instead it will serve as a prequel to Aladdin's Rebels and star the "Bad Batch" clones with Ahsoka and Rex as supporting characters because we can't adapt the unused Filoni Wars episodes since all except one don't focus on Ahsoka... which I'm sure it might get adapted.

So much for the "final season". This will serve as the "final piece" that links the prequels to Aladdin's Rebels which links to the OT, although why they couldn't just do a CGI Underworld like George and the old team wanted is beyond me... Oh yeah, because Ahsoka wasn't in it and George wanted her dead. The Aladdin Rebels sequel will likely be about finding Aladdin and killing Thrawn because why not.

And Ahsoka and Rex will be in the Mandalorian so that's not new. So far all the major projects will star Ahsoka because she makes peepees hard.

Only new project that doesn't involve Ahsoka (aside from Vi Moradi as far as we know but she could be in there) as far as we know, is a "prequel" to IX book called Dark Legends which takes place thousands of years ago and contains several "Dark Side" stories, one of which retcons Exogol to be the origin of the Sith per some concept artist and JJ's wishes, despite Korriban/Morraband having been their origin for decades and even in Filoni Wars shit, but hey Hidalgo and JJ will just not give a fuck.

The book will recanonize lightwhips from old canon and feature a Palpatine analogue and a zombie-like Vader analogue in a Rule of Two type deal before that rule should even exist, and who founded the throne on planet blackballs.

In brighter news, the first Star Wars Racer game is getting released on the Switch in a few days and Star Wars Celebration has been cancelled until 2022 at most.

I think what he means by same technology is ILM using composite screens, instead of green/blue screens.

Alot of things in Mandalorian that looked like exteriors, were not...

The book will recanonize lightwhips from old canon Its actually a shitty curved lightsaber that's bended into a cane shape (@Flexo you're a bending unit, any takes?). I mean what purpose could it serve that a regular saber doesn't already do? At least a lightwhip has more range and is basically an extending deadly laser snake you can control through the Force, but what does curling a lightsaber accomplish? Anyway it will feature a Palpatine analogue and a zombie-like Vader analogue in a Rule of Two type deal before that rule should even exist, and who founded the throne on planet blackballs, and the characters are described as being the Frankenstein and Igor of Star Wars. Another story is called Blood Moon and will be the first Disney story focusing entirely on the seemingly forgotten Shistavanen species who will be treated as some kind of werewolf analogue. Another one is called Predecessor which is about Vader choking some guy and apparently the first Sith. Judging from the Frankenstein and Wolfman references, I suspect this will basically be a book about Universal Monsters but with Star Wars. A generic vampire will likely appear since Disney already made them canon, bat transformation and all, except they eat energy and not blood cuz we gotta make sure no blood is found.

In brighter news, the first Star Wars Racer game is getting released on the Switch in a few days and Star Wars Celebration has been cancelled until 2022 at most.
Jesus Christ. Disney ditched Kennedy just to give Kennedy Lite (Filoni) all the same power to make all the same mistakes.

As someone who likes Ahsoka' story and character, I think we need a break from her for a few years. In my opinion, she is becoming the new Rey (though without some of the Mary Sue baggage).

Also, I finished Rebels a few weeks ago. I don't like Space Aladdin at all. Only story in the franchise where I openly hoped the Empire would win.

I still can't believe they had to throw Chuck another bone while still acknowledging one of the worst books ever published under a major banner. Also there's a rumor going around that B-Wings and TIE-Defenders may be included in this game due to some leaked shit I have yet to find, so take it with a grain of salt.
I think it's because it's now designed to trigger fans like you for attention, alongside the fact that the idiots at LFL think they need a lynchpin for their shitty fanfiction (proving they ape with no understanding of why) and still want to use his trilogy for it.

Apathy is death. I feel nothing for this game I will not buy, despite it being a long time since I played a dogfighter game and that I like those.

My software has confirmed, trying to bend lightsabers IS A VERY BAD IDEA.

Also my software has confirmed that is still not breaking me as badly as Alphabet Squd.

It is as dumb as Aladdin's slingshot - and we all know my feelings towards that.

Oh fuck me.

Though going with the idea, would Darth Vader be the mummy? ("dead" man wrapped up, moving slowly, fearsome, terrible powers) and Admiral Ackbar the creature from the black lagoon?

*cough* Both x-wing and tie fighter are in the internet archives game library...

I'm a little confused as to why Disney is still trying to push stuff. Wouldn't it be smarter to let things cool off so hype could be rebuilt? Yknow too much of a good thing?

Yes I am fully aware none of this is good, but why keep throwing money at ideas that are clearly not working? Wouldn't it be wiser to cut losses and try something new?

Maybe not desecrate the lore on a weekly basis for a bit?

The Rat has quarterly targets to fill, drone. Now consoom and give them all your spare cash.

Pretty much; this is their attempts to trick investors by faking confidence and shitting out a bunch of projects to pretend they aren't failing.

It's literally all they do, announce a fuckload of bad ideas, and then promote some of the shittiest ones that are based on prior EU works.

They need money.

By same technology, he meant the 360° LED walls.

The Bad Batch was the second worst thing in the Disneyfied TCW series after the sisters 3-parter.

It dumb how Star Wars fans always worship Filoni like he the chosen one or our last hope, That same guy who rejected Grievous backstory only because it didn't make sense for a great general to become subservient, But can only come up with "Who wanted to be a force sensitive but get rejected by the Jedi". Luckily that part not Canon.

Also really wish the Crystal Crisis Arc was finished one of my most favorite beside Lair of Grievous and Massacre on Dathomir, i know you guy already know that the Arc is Canon (just for proof) the episode plot is mentioned in both StarWars.com and Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition beside the Wookieepedia but for some reason there no mention of Grievous/Kenobi duel not even on StarWars.com. i guess Grievous not allowed to have his moment or badass moment. beside his best moment in comic book I really don't get why Canon hate Grievous so much, even in the Filoni Wars they even humiliated Grievous like getting punch by a Clone, captured by the Gungans, in the episode "A Necessary Bond" where Grievous dock down on the ground like a idiot when the Slave I start firing at him (they could've just animated him spinning his lightsaber to deflect the ship blaster aimlessly but I guess no) and making sure he never win a single duel.

But at least some writer care for Grievous in Canon like comic book writer who portrayed him better than Filoni/Lucas and writer who sneak in his reference in Canon book.

Despite Lucas' autism regarding the name, didn't he himself agree that Korriban was the Sith homeworld? They can't even just fuck up the old EU, they have to fuck up everything Lucas did too. It's amusing at this point how much they want to fuck over absolutely everything. I wouldn't be surprised if they retconned the Republic being founded on Coruscant.

Disney is a cancer that needs to be removed from Star Wars; unfortunately, I've got a feeling that Disney will never let go of a potential cash cow (despite how much they've screwed up). I wouldn't be surprised if we see Star Wars put into hibernation (like Mass Effect) in the next decade. Then again, I guess they could keep bashing their collectively exceptional head up against the wall until they bleed out. So, I guess there is some hope.

I think our best hope would be for Disney to continue to painfully flounder until they lose so much money that they have no other option left except for a full company restructuring. Something better rising from ashes.

Or it all burns down and some other company picks it up in the future. Sadly this situation is a long term one so while in 20 years or so there may be hope in the far future. But for now it's grueling abuse and destruction of what there is.

I think this coincides with the rumors going around that Filoni has basically become the new "story lead" at Lucasfilm. Every new project announced so far features Ahsoka or is said to feature her along with either Rex or another Filoni Wars character with the exception of the Dark Legends book, but there are still unannounced stories for it so that may change, and the From a Certain Point of View sequel novel too, but the last one had Ahsoka in it too with the gods even drooling over how important she is, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's in the sequel. Filoni milks his characters as hard as possible and the fact that he wants to force them into Mandalorian and Kenobi is very upsetting news when instead those shows could've been used as a starting point for more original standalone ideas instead of being used as part of some hamfisted MCU type bullshit used to explain the origins of the First Order and Ahsoka's ultimate destiny because she's the new hero now and Rey was just JJ's OC that the story turned towards for a bit for no reason other than to shit on what came before to make it easier for OCs and Ahsoka to surpass. Hell Rey's hardly in any Disney EU content, same with her buddies while Ahsoka is taking over like a force of nature. All this will do is even make moderate Ahsoka fans turn against the character with how much Disney has been whoring her out all over the place.

Its like if let's say Dash Rendar had been given the Ahsoka treatment back in the day and was put into every piece of SW media or referenced and cameo'd in almost everything. All that would've done is make casuals confused and cause the character to become overused and unwanted by sticking his neck in where it didn't belong, which is what's actually happening with Filoni's OCs.

Also I found some proof of one of the Squadrons rumors, specifically the B-Wing one.

However this is only concept art and the selection screen still only gives you 4 options, so they likely dropped the B-Wing in favor of the U-Wing because Disney has to put their original seal on there. Regardless, this makes me think the Ahsoka, Rex and other clone trooper rumors for the game are true, especially considering how many other characters are being forced in.

I'm not surprised. They won't even acknowledge Plageuis as a muun despite George himself picking his species.

I could understand the technology behind this bent candy cane lightsaber. Question is, why even make one? What does it do? Is it supposed to be a scythe? What can such a design offer that a regular lightsaber can't do? If anything this thing looks like it has shorter range so it would be less effective. And the author claims that this is a legendary design belonging to a popular sith everyone knew, but there's no sith who wielded a bent lightsaber. This shit just opens the door to all sorts of unconventional weird shapes. I mean if it at least looked cool then it'd be excusable but its just a glowing candy cane that offers no benefits...

Exactly. Its all about keeping up appearances. They screwed the pooch hard and the best thing to do would be to take a long break and give things time to recover while they analyze and find out where they fucked up, but nope. They desperately need their investors and their stocks to remain as they are and not falter, especially now with Corona. They are going to drive this sucker into the ground until it is worthless. From there they'll either never touch it again or try again, which will either be slightly less messy or even more disastrous.

While there’s no doubt Disney wants to splatter their brand on the game, I’d guess there is also some logistics issues with the B-wing.

All of the other ships have guns on the side or below the cockpit. The B-wing has that weird frame where the guns can be to either side or below the cockpit. The developers would have to design the game to incorporate the unusual configuration of the B-wing and knowing EA, they wouldn’t want too much complexity in their games.

From what I remember from the X-wing games, the B-Wing cannot shoot from it's folded(horizontal) position.

It can only deploy it's weapons from it's vertical attack configuration...

It's not that complex, just a nonsensical(but cool) design. No different to an X-Wing with it's rediculious blaster positioning...

It wouldn't be that hard to implement me thinks, but still there were plenty of decent B-Wing replacements they could've used. A nerfed or slightly modified K-Wing test prototype/precursor would offer a lot of possibilities (they didn't exist yet after Endor, but its not like Disney cares about consistency) and they can serve the same role as B-Wings in terms of both power and over the top design with more practical cockpits and offer some interesting gunner co-op. Then there's the V-Wing is an older model but its design is unique enough and can serve the same role as a B-Wing as seen in Battlefront. And the R-Starchaser from the original games that EA are copying for Squadrons which is a pretty good jack of all trades.

Am I the only one that thinks of LGBTetc members making up the Alphabet Squadron? Sadly, i wouldn't put it past Disney to create an all-LGBT squadron and claim they were the best in the galaxy or other equally-ridiculous boasts.

At risk of repeating the same sentimaent shared by most here, it's been quite frustrating to see the SW franchise go from successful, to iconic, to going down the crapper in the relative short time Disney has owned it.

What role would the B-wing have in the game? We have standard starfighter (X-wing/TIE Fighter), bomber (Y-wing/TIE Bomber), ace (A-wing/TIE Interceptor), and gunship (U-wing/TIE Reaper). I believe that was the same contingent of starfighters in the 2005 Battlefront 2, interestingly enough.

The best place to have the B-wing would be as a high risk/high reward ship coupled with the TIE Defender.

Well as I said before, the main character is a pansexual polyamory whatever, but the fucking habits of the other main characters are unknown, but the token theelin has a fixation for the Rogue One girl because according to her bio she was saved by a mysterious woman who she never forgot and one day after stealing from a space Blockbuster she found a Rebel brainwashing music video among the stolen movies and music videos and realized her savior was the Rogue One girl and from then on plays her music every day while thinking of her. So I wouldn't be surprised if the stupidly named Alphabet Squadron is actually an alphabet soup brigade. Making the Theelin gay would be biologically self-destructive considering her species is on the verge of fucking extinction, then again Disney seems to have been ignoring that as of late since Theelins are fucking everywhere now.
The best place to have the B-wing would be as a high risk/high reward ship coupled with the TIE Defender.
Would probably be the best option but a B-wing/E2 could probably be a good substitute for the U-Wing, but then again anything but a Disney U-Wing would be an improvement.
