Iconoclasm used to be a thing for a period of time during the era of the Eastern Roman Empire but it kinda of fell out of favor because the wealthier Roman Christians of Constantinople weren't very big fans of seeing all their religious iconography destroyed and the Pope in Rome definitely wasn't in favor of it, it just fueled the eventual divide between east and west that we have now with Orthodox Christianity and Catholicism. You don't really see it much anymore though with modern Christians, they're pretty accustomed to their statues and numerous other religious symbols.

It honestly is worse then that. Christian Theology commands adherents to fight when the time comes that peace results in more evil then war. The Christian concept of war is very Utilitarian. Suffering is to be endured so long as the good outweighs the bad. The other cheek can be turned so long as a path towards gods holy will remains open.
But sometimes evil becomes too great, and actively seeks to thwart Gods will. When such times occur, to be passive in the face of evil is the greater sin then to fight. For how can Gods Church endure if it let's the heathen and heretic destroy it without answer? Just as Christ used the rod and whip to cast the merchants from his Fathers temple, so too must Christian's be ready to use force against those who would destroy the church.
This is why I got so mad about the burning of Saint John's by these mobs. And if it's just the start, then god help them. A man can bend over backwards for the sake of his country. But not for his God.

Yes, and maybe. Muslims are pretty hardcore about not depicting God, and some extend that to people. But I don't think it's a significant driver of these events. I think they're destroying statues and monuments to unlink us from our common past and the idea of an American nation, so they can more easily manipulate the unmoored populace.
I love how Limitless is pretending to be a lawyer. "I was representing people ... as a court reporter." I don't remember if he said he was a court reporter or a court recorder, but basically he's a notary who sets up the video camera for the lawyer and/or stamps affidavits to say "I looked at this person's ID and they are who they said they are." It's an important job, but he doesn't represent people. He doesn't make decisions on their behalf or argue for them in a court.

I'm fairly certain religion is all fake, but I still respect people's right to believe whatever stupid nonsense they want as long as they are willing to set aside the "murder non-believers" parts of it.
The attack on how people depict Jesus is so disgusting. How dare they try to destroy beautiful historic art worth more than any of their miserable, empty lives? Besides, it was created by a people whose original cultures were wiped out and replaced by Christianity, then they reclaimed a version in their likeness. That should be uplifting by their standards.
People have a right to portray this mythological figure any way they want. Churches aren't government or public property, what right do they have to destroy the property of a religious community?
Everyday I lose a little more faith that we aren't stopping this behavior.
Also, no lives matter. I don't care about your skin color, you are only important to a handful of people most of the time. You will die and be forgotten, one of faceless billions. A bus full of orphans matters less to me than my possessions. I always think it's a waste when they kill a perfectly good tiger because some idiot climbs into its enclosure to get a closer look. The tiger is actually rare and valuable, idiots are a dime a dozen. Being an enrichment activity is the most useful thing most of them will do.

Energetic and hyped up as fuck, delusions of grandeur, thinking they're the center of the universe and on some great mission from God or the Universe or whatever, talking in circles and saying a lot of words while making no real statement, inconsistent thought patterns. I mean he talked about representing people in court, turning down a job offer of millions of dollars to do this independent thing, the mafia shooting at his house, having a bunch of goons with guns that back him, all of this outlandish shit, and very few of the people who really do that kind of shit are driving around Columbus at 2AM chainsmoking and yammering.
