One thing I don't see anyone talking about much yet is that this is pretty much the worst time of the year to get sick in a major hospital.
The new crop of graduates is out in full force, and there is statistical evidence that quality of care is lower and complication rates from a wide range of procedures higher at this time of year. As a nurse friend recently posted:

And this year is probably worse than most, since the new grads have been doing online-only work due to coronavirus. So far, it sounds like Heather's care has been good, but all it takes is some noob idiot failing to notice something basic and she could be really fucked.
