TLOU2 is why I prefer the B-horror Movie approach of the Resident evil games. The director of RE7 stated that the B-movie feeling is intentional so gamers know what to expect. Druckmann claimed that the story of TLOU2 is going to be rich and deep but it's just really badly written misery porn.
Of course TLOU1 proves that it's possible. But when you make such claims you better make sure it's true.
Also as a writer I'm just baffled by his and his co-writers decisions. There are certain things writers should NEVER do. I'm not even a professional and even I know the do's and dont's. This is the writing of amateurs. Druckmann should go back to writing school.
But I doubt he is going to do it because his ego is bloated. There is a great book called "Ego is the enemy". It's about people who accomplished great things but destroyed it all because they became full of themselves. It also explains in great detail how to avoid letting your ego get the better of you.
Humility is the key. Don't be a Druckmann.

Considering people who play JRPGs watch/read enough cutscenes to watch an entire Star Wars trilogy depending on the game, many people will literally play a game for its incredibly long plot. The problem is, The Last of Us 2 is a complete failure of a narrative sequel for many reasons, so it has little else to it so it sucks as a even a narrative driven video game.
You play FF, a series that has enough cutscenes in 1 MMO (FFXIV) to out run the entirety of Star Wars in length. You don't have a lot of grounds to go sperging about movie games and people who play them. Say something else you autist.
