Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

It is amazing how food has played a central role in Rich's decline.

The mangosteen started the slow decline. The site was never the same after that incident. It is almost like a line from the Grinch - and Rich's thick skin shrunk 8 sizes that day.

Goldbelly represented the lap of luxury for Rich, he could have all the barefoot, opiates, and $90 pies he wanted because he had a group of idiot troons giving him 8k a month. Unfortunately for Rich, he is like the Noble's in the French Revolution that were taken from their homes with their fat bellies and had their head chopped off.

The Nobel prize didn’t exist in revolutionary France.

Well...

It breaks even and then some on the revenue from registrations and forum purchases. The Patreon was always about providing Lowtax with an income.

Jeffrey has said that he's willing to cover the hosting costs, so any requests for donations should be for specific things, whether it's paying the front page writers or purchasing new hardware and software.

Jeffrey needs to make a "this is how it's going to be" statement early on. Consulting goons just ends up with a long list of contradictory demands, none of which get implemented.

Man, that nutless fuck Jeffrey REAAAAAALLLLLYYY wants to buy some friends!

That money wasn't going to the site anyway. They'll probably have more for the site without Richard around stealing it, so if even a fraction of the people who withdrew support from Dickard instead support the site directly, should it remove the Low-T tumor, it will probably be doing better than it has been in years. Maybe they can even do the XenForo upgrade Dickard stole the money for.

I don’t listen to the Dick Show, so idk, but someone said only paid subscribers get to hear Lowtax on Sunday? Otherwise freeloaders have to wait till Tuesday? Is this correct?

Why is Dickard doing "damage control" on a stream nobody can even hear? Why bother?

Yeah, Dick livestreams it to his $20 paypigs and the $5+ ones get to watch the video afterwards. Everyone else waits until Tuesday.

Simps won't call Lowtax out on his shit and only they get to hear the unedited one before it goes out to the public.

I hope someone's gonna record it live in case Lowtax spills his spaghetti

This is absolutely what this is all about for him.

When FYAD was being shut down, he basically tried to buy asspats from the FYAD Cool Kids by keeping it open, under his leadership of course. They weren't really having it.

Well...
The forum was doing fine for many years with no patreon at all. I'd wager about 6.5k of that 7.k was being spent of essentials like the lease for the GTR, the pies, ambien, and box wine.

Also, just for context, there are about 3.3k users logged into kiwifarms and about 4.7k logged into SA. A couple of years ago, there'd be 10k people browsing GBS alone.

Even with SA's shitty forum software I'd be surprised if server + bandwidth costs are over 1000 bucks a month nowadays.

If the stream link post the Godwinson/ PPP callout leaked, i one can hope that the link will be leaked for this one too.

I'm wondering how monetization of the Sunday stream will even work, considering that Dick's monetization platform was just killed.
He’s still on patreon

Web hosting is so cheap now I’d be shocked if SA cost more than $500 a month to host even with its archaic code. The money from the forums was drying up and he started pimping his Patreon so he could continue his lifestyle.

The forums will not improve, they will get worse.

Not that it really matters SomethingAwful is totally irrelevant and has been running on inertia for many years.

Anyone's welcome to believe anything they want, but the notion that Lowtax's presence is somehow holding back the forums from getting worse, is Ray Liotta Goodfellas laughing meme hilarious.

Are the forums going to get worse anyway because that's the native trajectory? Sure. Sounds good. Will they get worse slower for the absence of Slappy McPredator? Very reasonable to assume.

The mods were hemming and hawwing about punishing C-SPAM goons who posted that people not politically aligned with them should die (including specific politicians like Bernie Sanders for failing them), right up until Lowtax popped into a QCS thread basically saying "no, ban them, I don't want to be visited by the Secret Service again."

Same deal with the goons posting "jokes" about making bombs. He got some pushback for that, but he actually held firm. Same deal in 2016 when the mods hemmed and hawwed about enforcing 2016 Hillary toxxes until Lowtax put his foot down.

Now, I'll grant that he didn't slow it down very much, but he did slow down the leftist circlejerk death rally a smidgen because when it got really bad someone would alert him over Facebook.

That's the thing with Lowtax. He is spineless. Jeffrey is even worse on that front.

If Jeffrey truly divorced Lowtax with SA in a one-time payment type deal, goons would absolutely support it via Patreon to keep it up, as we all noticed. You put aside a patreon, all costs will be used to pay server bandwidth or whatever, extra will be put towards hiring people to make improvements, adding part-time coders, whatever. make the whole thing transparent. I’m sure there’d be people bitching about thing X costing Y but it’d be a fair sight better than what SA formerly had. Keep your day job and mostly let it run itself.

Even if Jeff wanted to make some money on the side, ask for a reasonable fee ($20/hr or whatever) to cover hiring interviews, creating interviews questions, reviewing resumes, making code fixes, whatever. They’d be down with that if you made your hours public.

Basically goons still want to throw money at SA, so why not let them?

It's the perfect platform for getting people to agree with him that bitches be crazy. Lowtax craves validation as much as he craves pills.

I don't see it as being terribly effective for anyone outside of a bubble for Richard to be going on an "ironically" misogynistic podcast that is probably the only place that would even have him. It's certainly not going to convince anyone who dropped his Patreon to come back. If anything it will just convince them they were entirely correct to drop him.

It won't help Low-T's reputation and could easily harm Dick's.
