I wish I could spin a romantic story about leaving in protest, but that would have been selfish. I thought about it dozens of times, but ultimately always felt a close tie to the students I served.

I resigned my professorship in August 2019 because I wanted to expand the scope of my anti-racism work. I had already retrained in UX design to serve better my department’s emerging focus on Interactive Digital Media and Mass Communication. My thinking was that a UX designer at a major digital firm could have a more significant impact.

If you’d have asked me my plan in February 2020, I’d have told you it was to conceal this part of my life (at least until I was a more senior UX’r). I thought I would need to hide this part of my expertise to work anywhere near the lily-white tech industry.

In the video I thought something was off with the "side walk"
I still am going to say her trigger discipline is horrible. And she weals the gun with such a limp unsure wrist, FFS and I never fired a gun outside of a civil war rifle with a blank in it when I was a kid.
