The thing with Trotsky though, is he wasn't blatantly murderous when it came to certain ethnic minorities; as in the Caucasus & Ukraine. Stalin definitely had an ax to grind with his tribal neighbors back home.

I doubt he would've purged the Red Army to the same extent, as well. And if anything, we may have seen the rise of communism in S. America far earlier.
